Just made my day with that one... Isn't San Diego "Whales Vagina" in German now that we're on the topic? Mr. Burgundy has taught me soooooo much.

      • While UT said no but OU says maybe...

The Texas-Texas A&M football rivalry may be done forever or at least put on hold for the near future, but the Aggies may try to work out some future non-conference football games with Oklahoma.

“There is mutual interest,” a Texas A&M official told the American-Statesman on Monday. “There’s a lot of mutual respect between the two institutions. We got a very welcome reception at their stadium.”

The Oklahoma fans even gave the A&M band a standing ovation at halftime. Officials from the two schools met over the weekend when OU beat the Aggies 41-25 on Saturday, but neither side has any idea of their schedules next year after A&M joins the Southeastern Conference.

Could a Thanksgiving night meeting between OU and A&M be possible? Don’t rule out anything because that is rivalry weekend in the SEC, the date when Arkansas faces LSU, Florida plays Florida State, Clemson plays South Carolina and Georgia meets Georgia Tech. But I’m not sure OU would want to play A&M the week before its Bedlam game with arch-rival Oklahoma State.

          • Oklahoma and Texas A&M trying to manufacture a rivalry? Shouldn't Texas A&M and Missouri be on Thanksgiving weekend since it's the new SEC "rivalry".

              • Hey BYU: President "Wallflower" Boren says the Big 12 is stable and all good now so don't go joining the Big East...

University of Oklahoma President David Boren said Monday the Big 12 Conference is settled with 10 teams through the 2012 football season, but didn't rule out the possibility that two more teams could be added in 2013.

"Definitely, I think we have the opportunity to go back to 12, if we want to," Boren told The Associated Press.

Boren did not identify which other schools have expressed an interest in joining the conference.

                [...]

"Right now we're in a period of stability that ranks with any year of the history of the conference since it's been formed," Boren said. "We're financially well off. We have solid media contracts. We have a full schedule of teams to play. We have many other schools still knocking on the door if we do want to go back to 12. We're in a very good situation."
It seems President Boring has done a 180 from what he was preaching only a few months ago after the Pac-whatever turned down adding OU/OU-lite. Maybe he is trying to repair the damage he did of scaring BYU and Air Force away.

Interesting : RT @GreggPrettyman: My Source: WCC basketball programs have been told this is BYU's first/last season in WCC and to schedule for next year accordingly.
For some reason, this strikes me as a little more credible than other stuff.

Well, it doesn't specify where the sports are going, just that they are going. I hope it's the Big 12, but I'm not going to get all let down again on this.

Sorry, I should have specified that last sentence as my prediction--it's not at all what the tweet says.

Here's the reasoning--even if you believe the BEAST rumors, there's no way we commit this quickly. And football next year because two years doesn't make a lot of sense. The B12 doesn't need us in 2 years. The tv contract needs ten teams and has another three years on it--it's either next year or in three.
