Exactly. This is why B12 makes no sense. At the end of the day, ND needs ratings and it gets better ratings when it plays more relevant games.

What would get better ratings: ND v. UM, OSU, UI, UW, MSU, NU against
ND vs. UT, OU, OSU, TTU, TCU?

In order of relevance, I'd say ND goes B10 first, then ACC and B12 is a very distant third

And here is why Notre Dame needs to be in a conference... (So they don't have to play Navy or Air Force any more.)

Notre Dame needs a couple of easy games on their schedule as well. Navy and Air Force are the only none AQ schools on their schedule this year. If they join a conference, they will have 2 of games like this on there as well.

I also don't think that Notre Dame will give up the Navy game. That game has been played since the 1920's. I think there is an agreement that goes back to World War 2 where Navy helped ND out and because of this, ND has promised Navy to play them every year in football.
