Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Err... shit! My bad, I shouldn't be all grammar nazi after a few beers.
I stand corrected...

Chip Brown is full of it. Listen to me, not him. He knows about Texas not BYU. BYU never got "cold feet" about the Big 12. That's absurd.
Yes, that's absurd. It was the Pac-whatever not the Big 12 that BYU got "cold feet" about. It has always been BYU's plan to be the 12th school to join the Big 12 just like it has always been ND's plan to be the 16th school join the Big 12. ND, to show their commitment to the Big 12, will be moving their non-football sports over soon. The dominos are falling and the pieces are coming together.
The question now is who will the Pac-whatever get for their super conference. I think they should go after BSU before the Big East gets them. If the Pac is smart they will get Wyoming as well and pair them up like they did with Utah and Colorado.

I know you are being facetious but if the PAC-12 had to absolutely go to 14 teams for football they would bring in Air Force FB only for the South and Hawaii FB only for the north.

I didn't know that Hawaii was a research university.

I think Mormonredeath has proven that if the PAC had to go to 14 or 16, it would be in trouble.
Yes.. there just is not enough schools in the west that make sense.

If the have to take AFA and Hawaii to get to 14, what kind of also-rans do the need to ge to 16? SDSU? UNLV? Grossmont CC?

The amount they were awarded for research by the federal government has gone up by $64 million since Obama took office. He must really want to see Hawaii get BCS access.

The PAC doesn't have to go to 14 or 16 teams. They could play the winner out of the new MWC/C-USA conference to see who gets to go to the BCS playoffs (after 2014 when the BCS goes to the super conference playoff system).

Brigham Young is not out of the Big 12 expansion picture, an official said. BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said on Saturday that there have been discussions between the Big 12 and BYU but no invitation.
Holmoe smartly reminded reporters how quickly the TCU action transpired, in a matter of days from the initial call from Big 12 interim athletic director Chuck Neinas to the press conference introducing the Horned Frogs to the conference.
As for potential Big East candidates, that league has voted to raise its exit fee from $5 to $10 million. Big East bylaws also require a 27-month notice, which wouldn’t make any member available to a new conference until the middle of the 2013-14 season.
Later today, Big East Commissioner John Marinatto will hold a news conference to discuss his league's future.
Wrubell tweeted this article, FWIW.
Edit: The 27 month waiting period for Big East teams is key. If Missouri leaves, it looks like the Big 12 opportunity will be there for BYU if they want it.
