The Big 12 expansion groundswell

I guess that is kind of my point. If BYU is winning, they will fill the stadium, regardless of opponent. If they are losing it drops about 5k-10k with MWC talent coming in. Losing with Texas, OU, OSU, TT, KSU, etc coming in, I would submit attendance would remain higher, than losing with the current Independent schedule.

...for the first few years anyhow. Utah is staring this potential issue in the eyes right now.

Hopefully we won't flinch. Despite the huge amount of money coming in from TV contracts, fans still need to donate money, buy tickets, purchase merchandise, etc. to keep the program progressing.

This isn't the only issue of course. The school must make athletics a high priority or else the teams will invariably falter.

Washington State has one of the greatest and proudest fanbases for a 'weaker' program that I have ever seen. Everywhere I go I see Cougar license plate holders, WSU hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc, AND THE ITEMS ARE ALL NEW (and not just this year). Only very rarely do I see people wearing very old Cougar gear; they buy it, wear it out, and buy new gear the next year. Wash, rinse, repeat the next year. Perhaps having Nike designing their logo gear helps because the newer stuff always looks great, even compared to older stuff. They are truly the 'Undefeated Fans'.

(FWIW Husky fans are similar, but i see a lot more of them wearing old jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, etc.)

What is different next year? Or the year after? 2012 and 13 are basically scheduled and already have bowl deals for those seasons. So you say I should wait until 2014 to decide if Indy looks good? No thanks. I can already see that our current year plus the next two years look like shit. I don't have any confidence that it will get better. Why would it?

If its any consolation Utah's best receiver (Devonte Christopher) obviously hurt his ankle on the flea flicker play last saturday and I havent heard a word if he will play on Saturday. Not to mention Lya was 2 days late telling us that Wynn was out for the year. I guess the takeaway is that the coverage in Utah sucks.

The 2013 home schedule looks very good so far: Ramblin' Wreck, Shaggy Bevo, and Bucky the Wonder Horse at home. Plus the second road trip of your first set of a 2:1s @ Notre Dame, Houston (the June Jones boatraces), and Hawaii on the road. And AT Romney Stadium again...

"No question — the ribs. They are unreal. In fact, when we cater for our team, I've used the ribs. The great thing is you can go take out, bring them home for Sunday dinner, warm them up and the meat just falls off the rib, it's fantastic. It is so good.
