In many cases this is a true. I have seen some pretty good scouting programs at LDS Churches I have also seen some that don't do scouting at all and just shell out program fees to the Boy Scouts of America. Its my understanding that the Church made scouting the program for boys in the church because they found something like 95% of the young men in the church that reached Eagle Scout went on Missions.

Plus in the last days it helps to know how to tie a square knot, use a dutch oven, and race pinewood derby cars.

Could you and perhaps Tripp please start a thread on the differences between LDS and non-LDS scouting? Enquiring minds truly want to know. My kid HATES scouting most of the time and I am curious to learn how much of a difference there is between regular scouting and LDS scouting. I want him to have the best possible experience.
If your kid hates it then why are you forcing him to do it?

      Thanks a lot, mom.

        Kind of interesting.

Kind of dumb for a guy who apparently has some level of intellect to write a long letter to TH predicated on the 72 hour thing.

I can sum it up pretty simply, the biggest difference is that the program revolves around parents and kids having fun together and leaves any type of a religious message to the parents to teach to their child on their own time.

I was in a non-LDS scout troop for Cub Scouts. Mostly because all my school friends did it and we were cool when we wore our uniforms to schools on Thursdays when we had our den meetings after.

Anyway, the two biggest differences is are 1) Kids want to be there and aren't doing what they're supposed to so participation, activity, and investment are much better and 2) Funding. LDS troops don't compare to the resources of non-LDS troops.

                  Viewership - 1.685 M

Our Friday night games, both close to the end, were only marginally more watched than BSU's blowout against Fresno, with about the same rating among adults aged 18-49.

Am I crazy to think that those numbers show pretty well for BYU? Here you have a top 5 team and one that everyone is keeping an eye on to see if they are for real, a media darling because of their recent success against two scrub teams like BYU and USU.

I guess I am just a glass is half full kind of guy.

I am not saying that is you, but geez, you seem close.

If just seems like you are not whole on the inside (mind and heart). I could be way off and if I am nevermind.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

I agree. That is not the sort of thing I am advocating. A general letter of strong desire for BYU to aggressively pursue BCS membership coupled with another sentence of grave concern over the recent flurry of alleged events, as well as a complete lack of communication to the public would suffice. A final sentence indicating that future donations are tied directly to scheduling, conference affiliation, and clear communication with the fans with regard to roadmap/vision. Finito!

4 paragraphs of why you love BYU football seems unnecessary to me. If you are taking the time to write and complain, you are clearly a fan of the team and clearly are interested in the unfolding events.

Not at all. Boise State is the #5 team in the country.

I don't know if I even believe Holmoe's response was real or not. If it is, I wonder if he was just trying to find out where the poster got his 72 hours information in an effort to identify a leak in the AD offices? Just a thought.

I agree. Who knows if it is legit.

I'm encouraged that even CB automatons are fired up enough to write a letter asking for information.

Would be nice to see TH answer an email like that, but too bad he gave him the easy out by blaming it all on the 72 hour thing, which is dumb to believe in the first place.
