It doesn't get more rock solid than this."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Interesting read from a WV paper. UWV is also nervous about its uncertain future and being left out in the cold.

Updated predictions, continued with the "Destabilize the Big East" theme:
TCU joins. Mizzou stays. B12 gets to 10 members.
Louisville, UWV, BYU join. B12 set at 13 and ready to renegotiate a power TV contract.
One more final spot...reserved in the future for Notre Dame.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I thought Louisville was committed to the Big East according to Katz...Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostInteresting read from a WV paper. UWV is also nervous about its uncertain future and being left out in the cold.

Are they saying "to hell with that" after TCU jumped?BYU, TCU and Louisville have all been mentioned as possibilities to join the Big 12. But Louisville, a source told ESPN.com, is interested in keeping Big East together with service academies to fill void left by Pitt and Syracuse, who are heading to the ACC.
The problem I (and other Texas fans) have with WVU is the road trip would suck and the WV fans are terrible. At least with a road trip to Provo the fans to get in a day (or half-day) of skiing or something as well. WV's academics are worst than TTech's.
Tulane kind of makes sense: It gets a foot into SEC country (payback for taking aTm) and makes a nice road trip. They play in the superdome. Tulane use to be a member of the SEC (left in '66 to become independent) and is an AAU school. Adds a new TV market. Besides, I think Wuap would approve.Last edited by Uncle Ted; 10-07-2011, 11:58 AM."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Seriously? You don't see how we are better off Independent than a member of the MWC? Is this one of those TIC posts that I take too seriously? If so, I think it's about time I retire from this thread. I'm being too sensitive and taking everything literally. Apparently the Big East is in a meeting now to discuss raising exit fees. It would be interesting to see if WVU or Louisville is in on this meeting. That might be telling about the future. If they are and WVU and Louisville sign on to this deal then my guess is the Big-12 will stay at 10. But I'm curious to see WVU and Louisville's role in the meetings today.

Any scenario in which a current Big East member is actively campaigning for loyalty to the Big East is untenable. That conference now houses what....6 football teams? I see why Louisville wants to say the right thing publicly, but previous schools that have played that PR card had a logical end game in mind. aTm wanted to avoid a lawsuit, for example.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostI thought Louisville was committed to the Big East according to Katz...

I can see Pitino wanting to stay in the Big East for hoops...it is a power conference, there are a lot of great hoops rivalries, and the Big East has a lot of good restaurants that allow table sex. Nevertheless, football is going to factor heavily into realignment so Rick might just have to get start getting his freak on at Sizzlers across Texas and the Plains states!Fitter. Happier.
