You're wrong. Louisville is bound by the Big East. They can't leave for 27 months. The Big East is keeping Pitt and Syracuse to that.

With TAMU officially gone now, there are only a handful of teams that can be added to the Big 12 before July 1, 2012 to keep their TV contracts. And really only two of those are desirable. And one of those ain't moving.

Louisville and WVU are likely in the picture, but only as teams #11 and #12. I fully expect BYU to be added as team #10 within a week and two more Big East programs in a year or two.

The B12 is going to look past BYU very quickly. It's there's for sure if they want.

TCU is not a great option because DFW is no net gain to anyone except for TCU and UT struggles somewhat already vs. OU in my hometown.

Louisville gets the Big 12 into SEC territory. Not a huge market but a good one with great programs.

If BYU is of split opinion, it's going to run out of options very soon, I think, unless we see a 12 team B12.

Uh, this says to me B12 is going go 12 teams, and so yes it makes all the sense in the world to get declared out of the Big East, which is disintegrating.

With a slight mod: 2 more teams announced very soon...but not able to join for a year or two.

My money is on Louisville and the Maniacs, which is what I wanted all along. Almost heaven....West Virginia....

The B12 is a muy enfermo basketball conference when all of this shakes out and based on current power rankings, it is apparently the best football conference, too.

All told, not a bad gig. And btw, how about a raise to 18MM a year?
