Essay Question:
Do you believe BYU has essentially "turned down" the Big 12 in the last six months?
In other words, would BYU be in the Big 12 already if it weren't for its own demands?
Or...
Do you believe that the Big 12's decision to not invite BYU (thus far) is unrelated to Provo's demands, and is a function of other factors?
Why?

I really think that post #12,000 should be the official link to the official invite announcement. Post 12K for the Big 12 is fitting.Originally posted by creekster View PostA thinly veiled ploy to expedite the thread's arrival at the magic 12,000 post plateau."Sure, I fought. I think the BIG12 put out indications of interest and what they got back made them think they ought to move in another direction.Originally posted by shoganai View PostEssay Question:

I think BYU has the same problem conservatives have in the republican party. They hear the rah, rah folks who will support no matter what. They are loud and vocal. Eventually they find out that support is not deep, but shallow.
I don't have a clue what they are going to do now, but I will bet they wish they were getting an invite.

The rumor over on the UT boards is the $9MM that the Big 12 is kicking in is a loan to WVU. They will be paying it back over time. I wonder if WVU is good for it.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostSo the B12 will likely help to pay a $20MM exit penalty, a $5MM exit fee, and liquidated damages for FSU.....wow, good thing the B12 doesnt expand to 12 teams and have to split the pie.
