  • This whole saga has gone from exciting at the outset, to heartbreaking with TCU's invite, to comical with Mizzou's waffling, and now to ridiculous with WVU in-or-out shit... :confused2::crazy:

Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Did you mean couches, or are you sticking by your statement?

They are just getting the fire ready to burn Rich Rodriguez at the stake once he sets foot back in West Virginia. So, it's both couches and former coaches.

                • And don't kid yourself: The Big Ten has a long memory. If you took a vote today, I'd bet the Big House that a quarter of those Big Ten presidents would lean toward keeping Notre Dame out.
I'll take that bet. The Big Ten voted unanimously to add Nebraksa in 2010. A university that does not rank favorably in comparison to other Big Ten universities. Further, Nebraska had not played other Big Ten schools very often before joining the conference. In recent history, Nebraska has only had series against Iowa and Penn St. in addition to three Alamo Bowl appearances against other Big Ten teams. And yet Nebraska was invited without dissent.

Conversely, Notre Dame has a better academic reputation and regularly plays Big Ten schools. If Jim Delany took a vote to invite Notre Dame (again), it would be unanimous. But another vote won't be taken until Jim Delany is sure Notre Dame will accept the invitation.

I'd also take that bet in a heartbeat.. Big 10 wants ND badly. It is the only school they want.. They'd throw in a Pitt or whoever just to get them...

Couldn't have said it better myself... seriously in the last two years two schools have been added to the PAC and the BIG 12 has lost 4 (barring Missourii texting "JK" to Neines). That seems like almost 6 opportunities to join BCS qualifiers and I'm feeling like all will pass eventually. To keep my sanity, I think Bronco has the best solution... we'll play who we play and make it so "they can't ignore us".

I wanna see schools like Oklahoma and Texas HAVE to come to Provo, especially a school like Kansas in the Marriott Center... but this is getting so unbelievably crazy. I almost just want to see a "NO" from the Big 12, kinda like the PAC gave us, so I can move on, find reasons to say we're better than the Utes, and just enjoy BYU again.

Doesn't the University of Chicago still have an open option to join again? It'd be funny if they decided to go D1 again and throw a monkey wrench into the BIG 10's expansion plans... if there ever are any. But yeah, I'm sure there is a dedicated golden phone in the BIG 10 offices that rings with the sounds of Angels and the Hallelujah chorus if Notre Dame calls.

I find that kinda cool in a weird way, sticking with an old member even though a crazy President back in the 40's decided his school was becoming too much of a football school (after a Heisman and a couple National Titles) and pulling the program.
