GSwaim (from Oklahoma) has had positive things to say about BYU. Chip Brown, the UT puppet, is always negative towards BYU. I think OU likes BYU and wants them in, UT wants somebody else. It will be interesting to see who wins.
I was being mostly sarcastic. For all the talk of our relationship with Texas, ND, and Oklahoma from BYU Independence honks, I haven't seen any great benefit from it yet. I would love to be wrong.
I think there's just an effort from some of the other Big12 teams to take a last shot at Texas.
"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
So there will be two main questions debated by the conference leaders.
Do we poach either West Virginia or Louisville from the Big East? (as I mentioned before it won’t be both. For the record I do feel that West Virginia would get the nod over Louisville if they voted to poach.)
Do we add BYU (which has some strong support) and leave the Big East alone?
I choose 2.
Also, I hear there is some fog in dallas delaying the meeting which was suppose to end a half hour ago.
Nothing really new, but Tale of the Tait has had good coverage on this whole thing. Its a good one to follow.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.
