So UT shares it equally in either the PAC or the Big 12. They are better off in the Big 12 since they will share with less mouths (don't tell me the facts!)"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

So suddenly it's all about that $300 Million isn't it? This makes it sound like the conference stays together if Texas shares on it's network? Man... It's like those family reunions where it's all fun and games and suddenly the richer cousins get cocky... then cousins start pulling guns on each other, the police come, etc... OK... well that's how mine go at least.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postwho was the poster that was blaming Mizzou in all of this? And while he said is not inevitable that Oklahoma will leave, he said the league must share television revenue equally among its members for the Sooners to stay. Props to OU - because OU will actually be giving up revenue for Big 12 solidarity. However, I'd feel much better about the long-term stability of the Big 12 if OU also commented about a Big 12 network. The LHN is what will doom (or has doomed) the Big 12. At a minimum, OU and the rest of the Big 12 should pledge that no Big 12 games are to be aired on the LHN unless FoxSports does not exercise Tier 2 rights to broadcast the game.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postwho was the poster that was blaming Mizzou in all of this? Our family reunion last summer was in Duck Creek, outside of Cedar City. We went 4 wheeling. You need to post more, PolyCoug.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Powers said after the vote, "It's an ongoing process. We will comment when it's over."
He refused to take any questions.
Oklahoma's board of regents took the same action, authoring president David Boren the authority to act on OU's best interest in regards to conference affiliation. (Brown)

No small point. UT prez Bill Powers has authority to stay in Big 12, but cannot take action on own to change conferences; regents keep that.

Every conference needs bottom feeders...and Baylor is ranked...Originally posted by CougarmandiasPutting the OK quote about what it will take to stay in the B12 together with the clarification about the Texas Prez' authority, I take it that Powers now as authority to agree to equal revenue if he wishes without getting regents' approval?
Hey, maybe this B12 thing will work out. We can suck in a conference instead of sucking all on our lonesome.

Currently, the Big 12 doesn't share equally Tier 1 (ABC/ESPN) or Tier 2 (FoxSports) TV revenue. Revenue distribution is based on a formula where teams that appear on TV more often get a greater share of revenue.Originally posted by PolyCougar View PostSo suddenly it's all about that $300 Million isn't it? But there's still that $300 million UT will receive for the LHN. The problem is that the Longhorns are using their muscle to force Big 12 games to be aired on the LHN that may otherwise be aired on FoxSports. I don't see much of a problem if Texas schedules a game and ABC/ESPN and FoxSports pass on it. But it becomes a problem when UT and ESPN negiotate with FoxSports to air a Big 12 game - as in the upcoming UT-KU game. If I'm a Jayhawk fan, I'd be upset at having to subscribe to the LHN (if it's even offered by my provider) to watch a game that might be aired by FoxSports or would be broadcast on a Big 12 network (if there were one).“Not the victory but the action. Yeah, the church on California Ave. in Glendale is a long long way from Duck Creek. The fights, shootings, and arrests suck... but the food is always awesome. All that said, the Big 12 still feels way more dysfunctional than my Tongan family right now.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostOur family reunion last summer was in Duck Creek, outside of Cedar City. Now that actually makes a lot of sense why there would be a problem. Forcing me to subscribe to a Ute network to watch anything BYU, would make me blow a gasket. The fight makes more sense now, along with the talk about Oklahoma wanting to make sure there is sharing considering non-Texas fans would subscribe to watch their non-Texas team... that feel kinda sleezy.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostCurrently, the Big 12 doesn't share equally Tier 1 (ABC/ESPN) or Tier 2 (FoxSports) TV revenue. all I have to say is the B12 effed themselves and college football. They had many opportunities to turn the ship around and bring it to safer waters but they (UT and then OU) were just too damned greedy thinking that they could posture and pose for each other and that when they had finished their pissing contest they'd be able to pick up teams and get back to business. What a mess. What a nightmare.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.
