  • Sounds like they are all intent on going to the PAC-12.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

UT would have their precious LHN/OU would have the Dirt Burglars network/Jayhawkers would be happily watching KU pound Emporia State in basketball on their network/BYU would be converting the heathens on theirs. And we'd all be watching UT/OU on ABC on Saturday night. It all just makes so much sense it's hard to just toss in the trash. Boren could fix this tomorrow. He just needs some guts.

I still think this was the target in everything...

As soon as the giant showed signs of life, OU started to change it's tone a little.

As for KU showing the game. the 7 mil they were making off of BB just got sweeter... You just broke the the barrier! To think KU has been making a killing off of BB alone over the past several years and now add football? Our overlord IMG have been very good to us!

I would NOT put money on this...
The PAC cannot cut us a deal and save face at the same time... contrary from the SEC/B1G, the PAC controls the T-3 rights of all the schools... The only choices are we cave completely/they cave completely/they piss off the cali schools by compromising... We have backed not only US but the PAC into a corner... It isn't like the PAC is the only choice we have, BUT it is the hardest road to travel based on rights...

But it sounds like they want to find a solution; Texas to the PAC and PAC bringing Texas in. Generally that means they will work it out somehow.

I really don't get it. They should listen to Coach Brown's concern for the athletes.

          • So while Big 12 and Big East scraps are talking, Hair Thompson is talking with C-USA to form a football only conference. And he's trying to lure the Big 12 and Big East scraps as well.

Doesn't the MWC have to dissolve to get out of the crappy Mtn contract? And if it does dissolve, why would anyone want to deal with Craig Thompson?

I have no clue what happens with the mtn. But I think some of these schools would take it and Thompson over being left out, as long as this conglomeration of the best of the rest is granted AQ status.

AQ status and a willing, substantial media partner.

Given our likely options, I think a leftover super conference could be okay.

                  • How about this one.

Hair Thompson is actively working to secure a champ game between the MWC and CUSA for the Big East or Big 12 BCS auto qualification. He is trying to get TCU to stay and needs one more for football to have 12 in each conference.

If the big 12 goes I say he picks up Baylor or Iowa st. I think byu going back to the mwc is non starter.

I laughed so hard when Herbstreit said (I think it was on CGD this week) that people should enjoy Boise's game this last week because nobody will ever see them again because of their horrible television contract.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Honestly I think the mtn is going to be the reason the mwc is going to be in a better position than any of the other leftovers including the big east. Now that distribution is such that anyone anywhere can get the games easily it bodes well for the conference. MWC games are either on Versus, CBS CS or the Mtn. Versus is available anywhere and on most basic cable systems. CBS CS and the Mtn are availble on sports tiers and at any sports bar in america.
