I don't believe that myself. Of course, until the Big 12 proves to be stable who would join?

USF (USF?????) TCU and louisville are the targets according to him.

That Pitt to ACC could really be the big nail in BYU's coffin.

As an impartial observer, I have to feel bad for TCU and BSU. They have excellent FB programs, however it seems all this stuff is about MONEY.

BYU can bring far more money to a conference.

why would pitt going to acc make the big 12 want USF more than BYU?

USF gives the conference a presence in one of the 3 biggest recruiting hotbeds. Not a geographic fit, but they offer more to the whole conference than BYU.

lol. Same with FIU and FAU under that logic.

Also, TCU????? They've long been on the list of teams NOT wanted in the Big 12.

Yeah those two are at the same level.....other than USF has a stronger program and already is in a BCS conference.....so other than those things, those schools ate pretty much interchangeable

Craig James would like you to know there are other options as well.

USF offers very little if any presence in florida. Maybe the big 12 should get into Cali through SDSU. Being in the big east because there were no other options doesn't all of a sudden make them into a big presence.

Stronger only because they are in a BCS conference (and for not that long either). But they haven't been that great.

Who's to say FIU and FAU couldn't become a stronger program than USF if they join the Big 12? Plus they are in Miami, which is a way bigger hotbed than Tampa.

Those of you disparaging USF, you know they're currently ranked in the top 20, right? You don't see how that makes them more attractive than FIU or FAU?

I'm not saying the Big 12 is going after them, but USF is a decent program these days.

i imagine even our incompetent offense would look great v Ball state or Florida A&M. ND was a good win, though we dont know how good they are. We know BYU sucked against utah and looked top 25, at least on D, against texas. We'll see how the season plays out. However, it is obvious that BYU has a lot more fans and gets to more TV sets than USF.

The newspaper reports, ironically, Texas supported Jack Swarbrick as commissioner of the Big 12 and OU supported Beebe when Beebe was awarded the job as leader of the Big 12. Swarbrick is now the athletic director at Notre Dame.
A few "concessions" by UT makes the Sooner Fan base happy. But the BIG 12 is still shaky so it has to be able to add stability before the Sooners will agree to stay....

The Irish fan base is well aware of the shifting landscape and starting to question why their leadership is not burning up the phones... Enter the Swarbrick connection. ND contacts Pitt and informs them they are withdrawing their other sports so secure a home in the ACC.

ND tries to rally alumni support for moving into the BIG 12.

                                ND/BYU (and don't rule out Pitt/'Cuse)
move into the BIG 12 and life goes on.

If ND can't get the alumni to agree to the BIG 12 then OU/OSU jump into the PAC and watch for UT/ND move into the ACC.

Well according to my Crystal Ball...lol
