The Big 12 expansion groundswell

It's been mentioned by others (Uncle Ted?) that the Aggie athletic department is already $18 million in the hole. That has limited their options and probably why Texas A&M could not invest the capital to partner up with Texas in the LHN or make more progress in launching their own Aggie network. Also think the claims have some merit so thinks it's being broke AND claims having some merit.

I found it interesting what Beebe implied in his recent press release. It seems that the SEC and aTm was expecting to just let the aggies go without an exit fee or anything: "The Big 12 Conference was asked by Texas A&M University and the Southeastern Conference to waive any such claim to help facilitate Texas A&M’s departure from the Conference without any consideration to the Big 12." Was aTm really expecting that? I assume they will not get their share this year or only part of it this year and none of it next year (assuming 2013 departure). Financially things could get very ugly for aTm's athletics.

That was the post I was referencing earlier when I commented about the rumor of Texas and ND to the Big 10. I read it on OrangeBloods this morning. They all seem to say PBC is legit as he was the one that supposedly broke Nebraska to the Big 10 last year.

ESPN attorneys have already contacted the Big Ten regarding the content of this post. Again, I am in no way affiliated with the Big Ten conference nor should anything I write be considered credible in any context.

However, ESPN has unfairly used its bully pulpit to influence Texas stakeholders to prefer the PAC. The Big Ten feels that if the current trend of reporting that Texas only has interest in the PAC 12 continues, this would merit a major legal action against ESPN.
