admittedly most Utah alumni are in Utah. The ones that are not are concentated in california.

but hey you are right we are really scared of having oklahoma and texas schools in the conference.

    whatever

Uh, these are capitalists. They want more.

          They did last year.

And I acknowledge that there is some merit to the idea that considerations are different for 12 than for 16, but still, one year ago, they wouldn't so much as call BYU. They took Utah and Colorado instead. UTAH. COLORADO. That's how much they didn't want BYU.

I'll grant you this: if you're thinking outside of the box, and you can talk Texas and OU into going, you may suddenly be asking yourself why you are so interested in Texas Tech.

Even then, I'll believe BYU to the PAC when I see it. And you can rub it in my face as much as you like.

I still don't think it would be enough, however.
Are you serious? Utah is a definite no vote.

              • The real questions that need answered are these, IMO:

Why would the Texas politicians let UT get away with ditching Tech?

Even if BYU somehow had the votes, and even if Texas wanted BYU to come with them, the politicians would force TTU in at the end of the day.

False. Trust my sources on this one, Viking.

Utah is a yes vote all day, every day, every time.

The politicians could care less about vo-Tech. There are dozens of other schools like it in the state, and you don't see any of them in BCS conferences.

Last yr there was no point bc Stanford informed it would veto BYU

But that's when a unanimous vote was required. It's totally different now

The betterer question is how they'd stop them. What exactly could they do?

So what are your odds at this point? How likely do you think it is that the PAC 16 happens (and, if it does happen, BYU has a seat at the table)?

Tech is one of the least influential colleges in Texas. It got into the big 12 bc smu was still way too far behid at the time.

I like my Red Raider brothers and at least they aren't aggy but they hold no sway. No self respecting Texan would ever question how Texas could ditch TTU

Oh I think the odds of PaC16 are only slightly better than 50% but that BYUs inclusion w UT/OU is about as close to a sure thing as it gets. Not 100% but I'd say better than 90%

It's like a wet dream to imagine, but I just don't see it happening.
