Sorry to disappoint but it is my real reason. Most of the Ute diaspora is in california and the pacific northwest. I'm still not sure what the answer to this question is...
Would Texas rather maintain the LHN? Or would it rather maintain a major conference for its minor sports?
I have to think they would consider independence just as seriously as the Pac-16. They can try to petition the Big East to become the 18th member (and 9th non-football), or settle for C-USA.
Really the Big East thing might not be hard to pull off given the current political issues in that conference.Comment

if the pac-8 members want it they have the votes as I cant imagine the arizona or mountain schools voting for it.Membership shall be limited to institutions of higher education holding Division I membership in the NCAA.
