Yeah, which is mythical? The A, the L, the U, or the F? Or some combination of the four, like the AL, or the UF, or the ALU?
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

      • Chat at CB is all aflutter over some guy named Heinz57. TDAWG was briefly in chat but didn't really say much.

aTm stays and one of two things occurs:

        1. The Razorbacks leave the SEC for B12
        2. Notre Dame and BYU enter B12.

I wouldn't mind Arkansas and the Cougs to the B12.

1.) This is not pre-meditated "oh shit" stuff.

2.) The Big-12 has known for at least a year that aTm was likely to bolt. It has been in the rumour mill for at least a year.

3.) I am sure the entire ESPN/Indy move was made knowing that if aTm did in fact bolt, BYU would be moving to the Big-12 and/or invited to the Big-12 when the conference decided to move back to 12 teams. So Indy was a stopping point mostly to mute the Ute move to the Pac-12 and piss off Utenation. That is why the party line was that BYU loved Indy. BYU did not want Utah to get all of the media love and attention, so it fabricated its deepest love and desires to be an Indy knowing that Big 12 inclusion was on the horizon but not knowing the exact time they would have to wait.

4.) Now that it is becoming more obvious more folks are getting briefed on what is going to happen, but until then I am convinced the reality of the Big 12 move was only known by a small group of people and I believe I have waxed eloquent on how the tightness of BYU lips is only rivaled by the tightness of the thighs of certain Prom Queens.

We can agree that if BYU does not get invited, if in fact aTm bolts, is because the Texas Legislature screwed us, that is my line and I am sticking to it.
I think you underestimate Baylor. They are ALL for you guys to be here!

Here is their forums and thread calling to ND/BYU fans.

          http://www.baylorfans.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=216980

Check it out sometime and say high! They are not what you expect

The biggest push will be some lobbying for Houston/Rice/SMU/TCU to come in but it won't fly! It generates no money for the State.

I think the biggest issue right now is A&M is trying to force the SEC to move up their expansion timeline. And it is probably not going so well.

          http://www.mrsec.com/2011/08/sec-exp...-slim-pickins/

I would paraphrase some things out of it but there is just way too much in that article to even begin.

I am just speculating here. I am 43 years old and have been around the UT/A&M rivalry for a very long time! A&M is the 'lil brother and UT is condescending. A&M has been a drain to State Funds for many years now but when they tried to out maneuver The State of Texas Legislature, it sent the wrong message. A&M sees it as a slap to UT directly. But the Legislature sees it as a slap to the State.

Either way, it is obvious that all communication between UT and A&M has broken down. Some of the comments coming out of DeLoss are perceived as arrogance (like we didn't start this but we will finish it), They are direct shots across the bowl of A&M by the State. DeLoss is nobody's fool and UT represents the State of Texas. The lack of government intervention is starting to look like they are squeezing A&M out. I will be shocked if when A&m makes this move, they aren't forced to do it as a private.

what do you mean by this? That the state would completely withdraw funding and force them to become a private institution? Is there any precedence for that?

Is that BYU employee the janitor that sometimes finishes near impossible math problems left on chalkboards? That dude is smart.

Not quite sure how to interpret Ketch's post. He wasn't responding to any specific poster. He just threw that our there in a thread that was discussing that bevobelle tweet about BYU joining the Big 12. Some posters were pissed if true. Others happy.

I believe he was responding to this one...

Most likely pending A&M departure. Good news IMO if true. Amazing that some on this board will never be happy...
Ketch might be implying A&M may not be leaving but the longhorns may still be getting some exciting news. (e.g. ND and BYU joining or something like that.)
