Coloardo and Arizona would be good adds. The coach with the most buzz in the country in a decent sized market and running up the score as the best basketball league by adding a traditional power. Also gets into the Pacific time zone even if it is only through the (non) daylight savings loophole. If these adds happen the Big 12 should hold. Being that Oregon and Washington are probably not coming, and if they do they woudl have all kinds of exit clauses for if the B1G comes calling, any other addition beyond Colorado/Arizona would be dilutive.

That’s what makes the potential rivalry so appealing.Originally posted by Green Monstah View Post
Boulder and Provo are very different places with different value systems. I think Provo can tolerate Boulder, but can Boulder tolerate Provo?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Do you think they hate Provo any more than they hate Stillwater or Morgantown or every city in Texas not named Austin? Yeah maybe they have a special level of disdain for the Mormons, but there's a reason they always wanted to be in the PAC12. Like SU it's not just religion it's all middle America they look down their noses at. They fact that CU-Boulder is seriously considering re-joining the rubes and religious zealots speaks volumes on how dire the situation is in the Pac 12.Originally posted by Green Monstah View Post

I don't understand this as it translates to participation in an athletic conference. Are you talking about fans, athletes or administrators? Can you provide an example of a scenario in which an interaction between Provo and Boulder results in a trainwreck?Originally posted by Green Monstah View Post

If BYU starts dealing with protests at Colorado, it makes BYU radioactive on a few different levels. If CFB is bound to be two superconferences with 30 teams each, that is the type of publicity we simply can't afford. On the flip side, maybe if we can play nice together, it's a non-issue.Originally posted by YOhio View Post

IMO, BYU football's future depends on two things: 1. performing well in the first five years in the B12, and 2. navigating the cultural/political minefield. Colorado makes the latter more difficult.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
