I think I indicated that, but since I don't swear that isn't my statement.

He was paraphrasing as only he can do.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I think if Notre Dame were an option for the Big 12, adding BYU and ND would have been done by now. It took the Big 10 until 2010 to realize the Irish would not join them. It took until 2016 and a GoR extension with ND and the ACC for the Big 12 to realize that the Irish would not join them. This is just another example that the Big 10 is smarter than the Big 12 as the academic graph you posted points out.

Maybe you also noticed that adding Nebraska made them dumber.

I did. And also noticed that Nebraska leaving the Big 12 made them dumber as well. The gift that keeps on giving.

To be fair, NU itself got dumber shortly after joining the B1G. So I think it was a bad move all around, everyone got dumber...

One thing I have taken away from this round of expansion anxiety is that many of the 'insiders' need to have some remedial instruction on use of language. The first class will point out that saying the "contracts are signed on the dotted line" when what you mean is that "they are not yet signed but are close" is a really dumb thing to do.
                    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

If this guy actually knew that 6 schools were on board, with 2 more maybe coming today, he would know which schools they were.

The six -- Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas, K-State -- and the Texas team I'd have to bet on would be Texas Tech.

But who the hell really knows if this report is accurate or not. Between TCU, Texas, Baylor and West Virginia, I'm not sure who would come on board. I'm not sure why Baylor would necessarily be opposed along with TCU.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I'd say Baylor because Baptist don't really like Mormons
