Given that UConn, SMU, Tulane, and Rice are still in this but ECU, Boise St, etc. are out I have to wonder if academics carries some weight with the Big 12 in its evaluation.
US News National Ranking of known remaining schools:
#18 Rice
#41 Tulane
#57 UConn
#61 SMU
#66 BYU
#127 CSU
#140 UC
#156 USF
#168 UCF
#187 UH
ECU's ranking is #194 and I am not sure what the other schools that got cut are ranked (if at all).
Rankings of schools that the Big 12 lost:
#70 Texas A&M
#89 Colorado
#103 Nebraska
#103 Missouri
I wouldn't be surprised if UH doesn't make it just based on their academics. Also, I wonder about UC. While UC's #140 is better than UWV (#175) it is questionable how much of a fan base there is in Cincy (UC's football is behind OSU and Bengals in terms of fans). Maybe UConn would be a better choice... at least it gives Kansas someone to play basketball with."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.
"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.

What levels of asshole are there? Is there a scale somewhere for reference? I am wondering where the JIC-Level falls, so that I can better understand the gravity of your insult here. Like, if the JIC-level is close to the Dalai Lama or mother Theresa levels, then its probably not really a huge insult.Originally posted by YOhio View PostTime for us to face the facts. The controversy surrounding Mother Teresa, who died in 1997, is far from new. Her saintly reputation was gained for aiding Kolkata's poorest of the poor, yet it was undercut by persistent allegations of misuse of funds, poor medical treatments and religious evangelism in the institutions she founded.
