It is nothing of the sort. He pre-dates this whole discussion and has been there for a couple of months. He was there even when it looked like the PAC16 was going to happen and Utah would be left out. But, lest I be misunderstood, I'll take Snoppy out for a while and replace him with a photo of a TERRIFIC athletic director.

The funny thing is that this is the kind of crazy, outrageous stuff most Ute CUFers have been posting today. I really don't get some of the venomous responses.

Ute CUFers: We're excited to be going to a new conference and eager to see if we can take advantage of the prestige and financial benefits such a move will provide for us. We know there will be a step up in the level of competition, but we think this will give us the best chance to grow and progress as an institution, both athletically and academically. We are excited about the future!

So where does this post fit in? Just part of you being excited to move to a new conference, right?

BYU should continue to stand for what it believes in but recognize those stances have consequences and be willing to accept those consequences. One of those consequences is not being invited to the PAC-12.

From the outset, Scott said he'd be equally comfortable with a 12-team league. While it's not nearly as big of a splash as the proposed Pac-16, it still allows the conference to start a championship game (which Scott very much wants), adds a very solid football program (I personally believe Utah, once it gets its expected invite, will contend for the league title within two years of its arrival) and a top 20 television market (Colorado/Denver) in advance of next year's contract negotiations. As the Big 12 learned this week, there is a lot of television money to be had out there, and Scott will undoubtedly elicit a bidding war.

That will be easy, given USC's recent punishment.

The first was a sarcastic response to Tick's funny post about the PAC scoring Utah being like dating the fat Kardashian. If you feel the response hit too close to home, I'm sorry. I'd hardly call it gloating.

You should probably read the second one a little closer before calling me out for it. If gently poking fun at AA for claiming BYU will win the SUPER BOWL gets someone upset they should probably stick to cougarboard.

As for the post falafel pointed out, that's just the way I feel. I wasn't gloating or trying to rub it in and when I felt people were getting upset about it I dropped it and haven't brought it up since. My sentiments have been echoed by others here, both BYU and Utah fans. Sorry for commenting on something divisive during this volatile time. Once again, if people don't like hearing things they disagree with there is another board where that experience is easier to have.

I don't think any of this can be considered gloating or in poor taste, but if that is how it came across I am sorry.

Great observation. Particularly considering Utah has a history of getting up for the big games, but laying an egg in games they should win. So the huge question is can they win consistently, week in week out?
