While I don't believe that going to the Pac-12 immediately raises the level of Utah and solves every single issue with the program, it is going to have a positive affect on the program. So that may be something to build upon, but you also are going to have a tougher time because this will improve Utah's recruiting and financial situation. An extra 19 million per year and better television distribution is an advantage.

The funny thing is that this is the kind of crazy, outrageous stuff most Ute CUFers have been posting today. I really don't get some of the venomous responses.

I am not pissed one bit. If all ute fans were to get a piece of that 20 million dollar pie then maybe I would be a bit upset. But they don't, and I am confident that it will not change much when it comes to BYU owning them on the field and the court either.

Utah's invitation to the BCS PAC-12 is clear evidence that they have a stronger program than BYU.


Just like UCLA was better than Utah in 2007 and BYU in 2008.

Dear BYU and fans:

It's not you, it's us. Please don't be angry or upset, we will probably end up being the doormat of our new conference. So much so, in fact, that we are refusing any monetary benefits until we can prove ourselves worthy on the field of action. In the end it was about trying to get out from the shadow of our big brother. We need to try and spread our wings and learn to fly on our own. The help and assistance that you have provided over the years is truly appreciated - we would never be where we are without you. This move is as much a validation of our success as yours.

In the future I hope we can all look back on this time with fond memories.
