Another of example of someone that got his GF preggers and was booted was actually Reno Mahe. He was kicked out for a year.

Actually, did you notice Bronco's quote:

He says "possibility". Does that mean anything?

I was just chatting with my brother about some unrelated mumbo jumbo when he asks me, "did BYU really kick its star RB out of school for sleeping with his GF?"

I said, "looks that way. he may have quit the team voluntarily."

So he says, "What about forgiveness?"

I had no good answer.

Maybe Harvey wasn't kicked out of school and this whole thing was voluntary. But if so, he just made yet another huge mistake.

Public humiliation for a very private sin. Secular, financial, and educational punishment heaped on top of an already awkward situation. For the rest of his life, everyone will remember this incident as an asterisk on an otherwise stellar career.

I agree with Jeff and many others who have commented on this issue, public castigation is never a good thing. However, if there are no consequences for actions by the University whether it be a DUI, pregnancy, or plagiarism, especially when the offense is either well known or part of the public record, doesn't the Honor Code in effect become null and void? To clarify, I'm not supporting the expulsion of two kids for letting their hormones get the better of their judgment, I'm just not sure there is an easy way to deal with these situations.
