I agree partly. Why not go to 18 and add BYU too. I would think they would 100% of Utah TV market, not just 20%.

    • What does Tarwater have to say about all this. I'm withholding judgment until I hear what he has to say on the matter.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Pac-10 expansion: Colorado reportedly receives invite while five others, including Texas, to be invited soon
ESPN may have their best and brightest on this, but are they talking to Texas' puppetmasters? What is Texas' end game?

          A third term for "W?"

As far as I know, the LA Times was first to report the invitations going out from the Pac-10, sourcing Pac-10 officials. Those Texas tentacles are everywhere.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

We've known all this is on Scott's whiteboard. Orangebloods is going further, saying Nebraska is gone, the Southern Division minus Baylor plus CU is gone, etc. All that's coming out of Texas.

                • I hope you people are recognizing what SU is giving this board latley, he is like Doc Gooden on coke, Hemmingway at Sloppy Joe's, Da Vinci painting Virgin of the Rocks.

In this thread he was the first to introduce to the board the Western Alliance that is now coming to pass, then immediatley started denying that Texas would want the P10, the P10 would want Texas, why would Texas destroy the history and tradition of Phogg Allen, Baylor will destory the plans, why not Kansas, Utah being paired with Kansas is a great consolation prize, claimed Texas racism for all white teams, Texas doesn't fit in the P10 because the sing "The Eyes of Texas" before games,

He gave a Pitt to the Big 10 prognostication. Made New Mexico a dark horse candidate for P10 expansion, and meant it. Colorado State is taking Colorado's spot in the B12. Dropped a "snapshot in time" bomb on Surfah.

Announced Utah to P10 a done deal. Claimed he never believed Utah leaving rumors and challenged those that said he did. Denounced articles as untrue because they were poorly written or misspelled.

Attacked BYU. Claimed the B12 had no interest in BYU. Said Utah and BYU are greater than Nebraska.

In reality that is only about half of it. That you people listened to waup and didn't give SU the MVP of the board is the greatest travesty in BYU/Utah related message board awards history. Stars can't burn this bright forever, hold on to it and embrace the memories while they burn.

SU you are the best and have carried the board for the last 2 months and I thank you my friend.

True. What are we talking about? Wilner's opinion piece merely repeated what was in the LA Times and then went on with possible outcomes, some more likely than others given all the reporting out there. One of those possibilities is Utah to a Pac-12. Other reports are that if Nebraska doesn't go to the Big 10, then they become a candidate to take the Utah Pac-12 slot. Mr. Brown is quite the puppetmaster.

                    • Weren't we told that when Ted Miller reports something about the Pac-10 we should be believe it. Well, Ted is reporting.

                      [ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=5270048"]Source: Pac-10 Conference poised to invite 6 Big 12 Conference teams - ESPN[/ame]

Colorado already has received an invitation to join the conference, while five other invitations will be extended to Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

A Big 12 football coach, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach on Wednesday night that if Nebraska left the Big 12 the conference would dissolve, according to his athletics director and university president. The coach said Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado would join the Pac-10, leaving Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Iowa State behind.

                        Amen, brother.

Unfortunately, a blown hard drive and a busy work schedule have limited my participation this week but I have tried to keep up with these threads, partly for a discussion of the news and partly to watch the SU show. SU is weaving a tapestry here that is one for the ages.

This latest Ted Miller report is a movement in the right direction, in a way.
