We were told for years by ute fans, and others that getting into a P5 would never ever happen for BYU. So spare me the inevitable talk.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View Post
The Big 12 was desperate and overlooked BYU's discriminatory policies. The SEC and B1G will never be that desperate. Not to mention the day may come when there is additional pushback against byu.

It took a very unique level of desperation to be willing to take on BYU's baggage and ignore the fact that they discriminate openly.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Byu has always made financial sense. Even the pac12 now would look past their discrimination and take them.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

The pac is in a very, very bad spot if they are willing to take BYU.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View Post

Utah should be the heavyweight of the PAC-6 (Utah, Arizona State, Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, Washington State).Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View Post
I basically agree with your prophecy because it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If the Utah fan base allows Utah football die then it will die. If the Utah fan base steps up and figures out how to carry the program forward through rough times, it will probably live and could potentially thrive.
The TV deal won’t be great if Oregon & Washington are gone.

This is only true because so much of Utes fandom’s identity as fans is tied up in their conference affiliation.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View PostThe Pac-12 is dead. Utah football is also basically on life support. The Pac-12 dies around Utah football and Whittingham retires soon. From there, it will basically become Utah basketball after the greatest coach that has ever set foot in this state, Rick Majerus, was unjustly and unfairly run off by Chris Hill.
College football as we know it is dead. It is basically the SEC/B1G and the split will become official in the next decade. Eventually, BYU will also have a conference die around it and be in the lower division too.
Within the next 5ish years, I'll be paying as much attention to Utah football as Utah basketball. It was fun while it lasted, but I'll find better things to invest my time in.
i mean, I’ve tried being a fan of my law school team and a local team (located in a city bearing my name and who my all time favorite baseball player played), but I just can’t do it. There’s something about that first love.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
