  • The Giants

The Giants are staying relevant this year with pitching.

    Lincy, Cain, Johnson: bringing it.

The Giants have the second worst offense in the NL, the fourth worst offense in all of baseball.

    But on the rubber?

7 CGs (1st in the NL)
    8 SHO (most in baseball)
    594 SO (1st in baseball)
3.61 ERA (Tied for 1st in baseball)
    282 R (Fewest in baseball)

    Lights out.

Also the sticks are coming around, they are not hitting bombs but they are getting timely hitting.

In the month of June Nate Schierholtz leads all of baseball with a .400 average, Pablo Sandoval is 2nd at .389. Benji is starting to hit again, Rowand batting lead off has been a nice addition, and Randy Winn has actually found some juice in his old legs.

I think they need one more arm in the bullpen (hopefully Sanchez can be that guy) also the re-emergence of Barry Zito has played a nice role.

Pablo Sandoval is going to win multiple batting titles before his career is over. In fact he may be the one that keeps Pujols from winning the triple crown this year.

If the Giants can find enough Offense to make the playoffs, could you imagine facing that rotation in a 7 game series? Ouch!!

Also with todays win they now have the 2nd best record in the National League behind LA. 4th best in all of baseball.

I believe it was funky town that was lighting up the NL West at the beginning of the year. 3 of the top 4 records in the National League come from the NL West and the Rockies are only a game back of Milwaukee. Combined the top 3 teams in the NL West were 29-19 in Interleague play.

If they can squeak out a Wild Card spot, I like their chances against a Philly or STL.

As a Dodger fan, I hope the rumors about Jermaine Dye going to San Fran are just rumors and don't happen. The last thing I want to see is for them to add a good bat to go along with the pitching that they currently have.

I don't think the NL West is as bad as everyone says it is.

I would like to help out the Giants. We will trade you Holliday for 2 prospects and the rights to San Jose.

We are down with the two prospects but we are keeping San Jose, you can however have Fresno.

No deal. I guess we will just have to move to Portland.

Gammons says that the Giants are loaded on the farm and have at least four prospects they could bring up and help the mother team.

Timothy Alderson: 21 years old another player on the fast track to the Majors like Bumgarner. He is 7-2 this year in AA ball with a 2.36 era. 6'6 220 pounds.

Brandon Crawford: 6'2 200 pound SS out of UCLA, hit .371 with 5 homeruns and 17 rbis in A ball before getting called up to AA a few weeks ago.

Buster Posey: number 1 pick for the Giants 2 years ago, is currently hitting .321 with 11 homeruns an 48 rbis in Advanced Class A ball. He will be in the majors in either September or the start of next season.

The farm system is stocked right now, this does not include Kevin Pucetas who is pitching in Triple A and will get called up shortly, Ryan Sadowski who was called up on Saturday and threw 7 shutout innings, as well as Pablo Sandoval (only 21), Nate Schierholtz, and Manny Burriss who are all already in the majors.

The Giants have 11 shutouts so far this year, the second most is 6.
