Malone finished his career at 74% but Isiah claimed he padded his stats later in his career or something like that.

Yeah, Isiah was a 75% career shooter, while Malone shot 76% and 78% in the two finals seasons respectively. Malone was a career 74% shooter.

yeah Malone is the the prime example for practice improvement. He was an incredibly horrible free throw shooter when he first came in the league and he turned himself into an asset at the line....unless it was the playoffs.

He shot 74% FTs for his career in the playoffs and 79% during the two years they went to the finals.

He shot 74% for his career in the playoffs, right there in the range of his career average. And by the end of his career when he had built himself into a pretty good ft shooter for a big and the Jazz were making runs, he had consecutive years of 78.8, 79.1, 81.0 and 79.6. But W/L shapes the narrative, be it fair or unfair. Duncan has missed some big free throws in the playoffs, only to get picked up by Horry/Manu/etc. Then those misses are washed away.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

lol. A shooting percentage becomes a more accurate representation with each attempt. That said, I have absolutely no doubts that Isaiah thinks "stat-padding" a shooting percentage is possible.

              • I was on my mission during the Jazz Finals years, so I might be wrong on this. But the first year, didn't Malone sustain a pretty significant injury to his right hand when Barkley tripped him in the WC Finals? I thought Malone ended up with a big ol' blister or something on the palm of his right hand which affected his shooting in the Finals.

Which why Isiah has been such a successful coach and GM.

Apparently he is not a big fan of Adidas, although that may change when he decided to go to Kansas. Can you imagine being a college freshmen and knowing that in 8 months you will be a millionaire? How could he trust anyone that he comes into contact with?

                            • Can you have a shoe deal that pays you that much and still play D1 sports? Is there a rule?
