Hornets win the Lottery...another cold envelope situation right before Tom Benson takes over as the owner.
2. Bobcats
3. Wizards
Please not another shooting guard."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I think I'd rather have Thomas Robinson or Jones, but who knows. A few drafts ago they traded their pick (Ricky Rubio) for a bunch of garbage so we'll see.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostFord has them taking a SG (Beal)."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

I was just looking at DX's mock and I think I like the top half of the second round more than the bottom half of the first round. That top half of the 2nd is loaded with guys who should stick in the league for a long time...
John Jenkins and Doron Lamb might be the best combination of pure shooting and scoring in the draft.
Festus Ezeli is a 7' athletic big man with some skill who reminds of Ibaka.
I can see Darius Miller at 6'7" playing a Kawai Leonard type role as a guy who will knock down the open three, play some defense and can put it on the floor a bit.
Kevin Jones is that token 3/4 tweener who produced in big numbers in college, but due to his lack of length and potential always lasts til' later in the draft, but is a virtual lock to be a rotation guy in the NBA. (Millsap, Patterson, Faried)
Draymond Green isn't as sure as Jones, but one of the best players in the country last year. He does it all and if he gets a chance will be in a rotation.
I'm baffled by Will Barton's lack of draft hype. Good size for a two at 6'6", athletic, just a soph so the potential is there, put up 18 ppg on 51% FGs and 8 rebs at Memphis. He's the same age as Barnes, JLamb and Ross and is a better player than all three.
Drew Gordon at 6'9" has a chance to be a solid NBA player.
Jae Crowder was the Big East POY, IIRC and another do it all type like Green.
These are all guys that would be worth trading up into that 30-40 range to get.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 05-31-2012, 07:38 PM.I'm like LeBron James.

I thought I read somewhere that Crowder measured at 6'3". He had an insane 6'11" span or something like that to go along with it, but that is really short for a guy whose skills are limited.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI was just looking at DX's mock and I think I like the top half of the second round more than the bottom half of the first round. If he's just 6'3", I agree. That's too little. With his skill set, he has to be in the 6'6" range to have a shot.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostI thought I read somewhere that Crowder measured at 6'3". Ford floats the rumor of Cleveland giving up the 4 and 24 to Charlotte for the 2nd pick. From Charlotte's end, they've got to have as many darts to throw at the board as possible. Whether they end up with Beal or MKG or Barnes it won't make much difference, IMO. But if they get lucky and find another player at 24 it would make a big difference for them.
For Cleveland, I wonder who they would be targeting at 2 to be the next piece alongside Irving and Thompson. With the way Thompson plays, I would think they'd want the scoring of Beal or Barnes over the all-court game of MKG. But with how good Irving is, they're on the quick road back to the playoffs.

Measurements out today.
MK-G had the same standing reach as Zeller. No wonder Zeller seemed to always play smaller than his 7' height...he also has a 7' span. Drummond and Henson on the other hand fit the condor category more closely. Wade-esque arms on Beal, Lamb, and Lillard.
Would love to see Lillard or Lamb on the Jazz.

Beal always seemed bigger than 6'4" to me. Perhaps that explains it.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostMeasurements out today.

Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...#ixzz1xDn0iZfWDamian Lillard received the most buzz from the NBA Draft Combine in the skills portion.
"I just wanted to show teams that I'm not afraid to compete with the best. I've been working really hard and I wanted to show them who I am."
Lillard shot very well and had no trouble getting to the basket in the one-on-one drills.
"He looked like a legit lottery pick," one GM said.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Damian Lillard stood out, even in simple drills. Physically he's compact and toned. He rarely missed in the mid-range shooting drill, where he runs back and forth to point A and B, catching and shooting. His three-point stroke is accurate and effortless, and he looked completely comfortable from NBA range.http://www.nbadraft.net/nba-draft-combine-day-1-0- Tony Wroten could not make a three-pointer. In the three-point shooting drill, which is 5 catch and shoots from the two corners, wings and the top, he just couldn't get going. Jay Williams dropped a great stat, which said Wroten shot 3-24 in spotup opportunities as a freshman. Not a promising statistic, considering it's likely he'll be asked to play the 2 at times. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
