hackPrepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Like I said earlier, I think Withey compares favorably to Ostertag and while most of us likely aren't big Tag fans and realize he was a big, clumsy, overpaid dumbass, he was a rotation player/starter for some pretty good NBA teams and had a long career in the league. If you can get that late first or at any point in the 2nd round, you've done okay.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostWithey set the NCAA tourney record for blocks this year. read that last night and had no idea.I'm like LeBron James.

Thanks for the response I see the effusiveness better now.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostBut do you remember Camby as a true freshman at UMass? That was what I was referencing in response to the original question of why Davis is being viewed as a huge talent in this draft when he seems to be awfully similar to a Camby-type player.
As a freshman at a school playing against much stiffer competition than what Camby saw at UMass, Davis averaged 4 more rpg, 4 more ppg, 1 more bpg, shot about 13% better from the field and 11% better from the line. So though their body types and styles might seem similar, based on the numbers and the opinions of those who might remember Camby as a freshman Davis is much more advanced as a young player in most facets of the game.
I can't remember who was tweeting about it, but they were talking about how the comparisons to Duncan might not be too far off when you consider where Duncan was on offense as a freshman in college. Or some people bring up Ewing since he was primarily a defensive monster in college but developed a heck of an offensive game once he went pro.
I think the Camby comp makes sense. But because it looks like Davis shoots, passes, and dribbles better, you can see why some analysts say Duncan or Olajuwon even though Camby is a good "style" match.

And that's Jeremy Lamb, right? I think Lamb of Kentucky hasn't made a final decision yet.Originally posted by Jacob View PostLamb and Jones are in the draft, Cody Zeller is out. This is all good. Everybody we expected/hoped to enter the draft is entering the draft, meaning a better chance of a good pick in the mid to late lottery.

What was New Jersey thinking when they made that trade with Portland? They didn't get any additional cap relief, they traded for a player that can opt out of his contract at season's end, and they gave up a draft pick with only top 3 protection when they knew they'd have a high lottery pick this year.
They might've traded a pick in the 5-7 range and a $10 M expiring contract for Gerald Wallace. If Wallace opts out, essentially cancelling out Memo's expiring contract they traded, it means NJ give up the 6th pick in the draft so Portland would take Shawne Williams. And I guess to help guarantee that they lose Deron Williams for nothing.

You have to wonder if Prokhorov is calling the shots instead of King.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostWhat was New Jersey thinking when they made that trade with Portland?
