Just watched the Pelicans game on the DVR. The good news is Jimmer played 18 minutes and helped his team win -- looked pretty good on defense and had a couple of nice assists and drew a charge.

Bad news is he went 0-6 from the field. Regression to the mean after his hot preseason shooting I guess.

Aside from not getting anything to go down (they will), he looked good out there. Glad to see that he seems to be a part of the rotation. Hope it stays that way.

Totally agree. The shots not falling doesn't matter, just nice to see him getting minutes and looking like he belongs out there.

Plus I was happy to see Jimmer front and center on a Sportscenter highlight!

On the negative side, the highlight was a closeup of him on the bench cheering after an Anthony Davis dunk, but still.

Also, a sign that I am still in full-strength Jimmer-love mode: For every highlight they showed, my first action was to scan through the Pelican players to see if Jimmer was on the floor (he was in one highlight out of about 6).

It was fun watching Jimmer play important minutes, but weird watching him look significantly better on defense than offense. A couple of those threes he missed were about as good of looks as he might get this season. The block on Ben Gordon might be the defensive highlight of his career. Looks a bit thinner than he has in the past and moving well.

Jimmer was good in the preseason. He will bounce back from the opener.

I'm still amazed by the kid. I remember him looking good as a freshman coming off the bench (behind Murdock?) and looking pretty good. If Marty McFly showed up and said- "hey that's going to be the NCAA player of the year and an NBA lotto pick" people would just make fun of his 80s clothes and turn away.

He's gonna get good looks all year. It's a great situation for him.

I don't like that he has some former Kings (baggage, ball hoggin) on the team with him, though.

I don't like that he hasn't seen the floor in the last two games. Very weird after a strong preseason and appearing to be in the rotation plan for game 1.

Either, Jimmer just can't play at the NBA level, or something weird is going on. Preseason made me believe he would be getting minutes and shots. In short, I agree that it is weird and an unfortunate.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I just hate that he's on a team with a scrub chucker like Tyreke Evans again.

Chickened out. It was a softball from Topper - I'm better than that.

I actually like Jimmer. I think it's because he played in an era when Utah wasn't competitive, so I never truly despised him, as I do most every other ex-Cougar.
