and an hour after your post, it seems he has only 9 minutes total. Dude is scoring.

Jimmer goes 4/4 from the line in the final minute to ice the game for the Kings. He's playing well.

IIRC, Jimmer is shooting 95% FTs right now - the league leader among qualifiers is hitting on about 93%.

#7 in the NBA in points per 48 minutes at just a shade under 30.

                What am I missing here?

The ESPN rankings don't list him on the leaderboard, I assume based on not enough free throw attempts. They require a player to be on pace for 125 attempts in a season. Jimmer is 34-36 on the season. Not sure if that includes 8-8 tonight or not.

Jason Kidd is listed on the leaderboard in the 5th slot. He is 25-27 on the season. Why no Jimmer if Kidd is on there?

I looked at the ESPN rankings as well. I just assumed Jimmer didn't have enough attempts to qualify too. I didn't dig deeper. In regard to Kidd, it could be that he's averaging more attempts per game than Jimmer is. Hasn't Kidd been out for a fairly significant portion of the season? I'm quite certain it hasn't been updated with tonight's stats yet.

Jimmer looked really good in his first stint last night. He is getting more and more comfortable with his handle. His outside shot is really opening things up off the drive. Last year when he struggled with his stroke defenders didn't respect him as much and they could easily frustrate him by getting in his face. This year he's moving extremely well off the ball. He's forcing guys to chase him around screens and close out and when they do he's been able to effectively put the ball on the floor and get in the lane. He added a nice spin move and floater to his repertoire. But he's also been much better at initiating and drawing contact to get to the line where he is automatic. This is one of the reasons his efficiency has been so high in the games he plays. Another thing that has helped is by playing off the ball as a combo guard he isn't the primary ball handler. I think that has increased his confidence as it was an adjustment for him to get used to the pressure of on ball defense by bigger, quicker guards.

All in all I think Jimmer is proving that he can have a sustainable career in the NBA. He's showing that he can do more than hit 27' 3 pointers. If he can work on the defensive end some more he could earn time as a steady rotation player.

                      It has been updated.

It's incredible how much of a man crush I still have on Jimmer.

I have been sour on nearly every BYU b-ball player in the last ten years, but I reserve all my good BYU hoop feelings for this dude.

I still love several recent BYU ballers. I share one with Goat for Jake Shoff. Slim Hansen will always have a place in my heart. And as much as Rafa sucked in the league, I'll love the dude forever for his short right hook and going monkey poo all over Bobik and OK State. Likewise, I will always love Mike Hall for the facial on Nick Welch. Sometimes I go back and watch Jennerstein's video of it for a little pick me up as it features two of my favorites. Big Shoff, all ass and headband, clearing the lane for Hall to ask Welch if he likes CDs. See deez nuts bitch! And finally El Pelón will always be loved for his consistency and sweet mid range shot.

But Jimmer. Oh Jimmer. I will never quit you.

While on the Mesquite golf trip a couple of my friends went on down to Vegas to play poker. They claim Jake was at the table. I told them they were mistaken as he is both a RM and BYU grad. They still swear it was Jake or someone claiming to be him.
