Jimmer has scored 36 points in his last 42 minutes of play over 6 games on over 60% shooting from the field.

Indy,
Why would the Kings....pick up Jimmers option. Refuse to play him meaninful minutes. Pick up Brooks. Split time with IT, Brooks and Jimmer. Get rid of Brooks. Pick up Douglas.
After any meaningful game Jimmer plays, and contributes significantly...he is immediately rewarded with a "DNP - Coaches Decision" game to follow. At best...significantly reduced minutes.
I have NEVER seen the mishandling more of a good player than I have had to watch with Jimmer. If we don't hear Jimmer going absolutely NUTS on the coaching staff, ripping them in public, doing anything to get himself OFF this team and on to another...I will be disappointed.
What is going on with him and the Kings?"Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."
Hmm... Good motivation for me to remain active I guess.

Jimmer was drafted to make money. That is all.Originally posted by Borg View PostIndy,

Another DNP for Jimmer. Toney Douglas plays 21 minutes and goes 0-3 for 0 points. Isaiah Thomas had a nice shooting game and scored 25 points. In typical Kings fashion your starting point guard has 0 assists. Another blowout loss for the Kings. I love how Keith Smart actually shortened bench in the second game of a back to back. Great idea h played 7 guys more than 20 minutes and only played 9 guys total (the other two played 6 combined minutes).

i know that it has been discussed at great length here, however, it is still a valid point of discussion: how in hades is KSmart an NBA coach? Maybe he is a great skill set coach or a really is a student of the....oh who the hell am I kidding! What does this man have that others don't? Is it that he is the only coach that wanted to live in SacTown?I'm your huckleberry.

He's cheap. They don't have to pay him much. But I don't get it either. This is a guy who used to bench Steph Curry late in games. This is a guy who played Monta Ellis 40+ minutes a night and shipped Jeremy Lin to the D-League.Originally posted by FN Phat View Posti know that it has been discussed at great length here, however, it is still a valid point of discussion: how in hades is KSmart an NBA coach? Exactly what Surfah said, the Maloofs have been trying to sell the team for a few years now, they continue to lose money. Smart was a cheap alternative after the firing of Westphal. He is a "yes" man that listens to exactly what Petrie the GM and ownership want. They are trying to make the team as attractive as possible for potential buyers. A lame duck coach like Smart and a terrible GM like Petrie are exactly what prospective buyers want. They can come in and wipe out the entire front office, coaching staff, trainers, etc. and start fresh.Originally posted by FN Phat View Posti know that it has been discussed at great length here, however, it is still a valid point of discussion: how in hades is KSmart an NBA coach? They are also trying to showcase their assets, with a possible move to Seattle they are playing Isaiah Thomas 35 minutes a night and really playing him up to that fan base. He is a hometown kid that played collegiately at UW.
They also dumped Thomas Robinson for a similar reason, they only saved about $2 million in the deal, but they picked up Patrick Patterson who does not have the ceiling as Robinson but will allow to Kings to win a handful of additional games down the stretch. Again making them look more glamorous. Most teams at this point in the season with a record as bad as the Kings start to develop young talent (see: Phoenix, Charlotte, Detroit, Cleveland). The Kings on the other hand are trying to win as many games as possible so that Keith Smart can somehow try and save his job and so a future ownership group sees the potential in the team and the Maloofs can demand the highest possible asking price.
Unfortunately Jimmer is one of the victims in all of this as his playing time will continue to be limited. The worst part of all of this is Jimmer would actually help them win. This team is one of the worst 3pt shooting teams in the NBA yet they have a top 10 shooter on the bench. When you are paying Marcus Thornton and John Salmons 8 million each per year, you are forced to play them as a GM and Coach to justify that contract and try and save your job under new ownership.*Banned*

Another reason for the T-Rob trade is because Aldrich and Douglas are FAs after this season and Patterson after next year I believe. 3 soon to be expiring contracts.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostExactly what Surfah said, the Maloofs have been trying to sell the team for a few years now, they continue to lose money. It's funny to read the Kings forums. So many rip on Jimmer for his lack of defense and point to that as the reason he doesn't and shouldn't play. And while he's not good, he's not as bad as they make him out to be. Especially when you consider that as a team they're dead last in the league and Jimmer plays so little. It's a joke that he's been benched for Toney Douglas. Toney Douglas is averaging almost 20 mpg with the Kings since the trade. He's shooting a scorching 31% (39% on the year, 32% last year so it's not a slump) and 27% from 3. And his reputation as a lock down defender has done nothing to improve the Kings' defense as a whole. In fact I watched Steve Blake light his ass up last week. And while Jimmer has improved over his rookie year, Toney has arguably gotten worse every year in the league.
I hate the Kings. Hate them. I hate their fans. They're all idiots. I can't wait for their franchise to be ripped from them.Last edited by Surfah; 03-25-2013, 08:24 AM."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I saw this posted on CB. It's a video of Jimmer visiting with a young boy diagnosed with a brain tumor. While I love these stories because they show a great deal of humanity, it always breaks my heart to see a young child going through so much pain.

Jimmer sits the entire first half last night, he enters the game at the start of the 4th quarter with the Kings up by 9. Jimmer goes 3-5 from the floor (one of his misses was a sick split of two players on a pick and roll, vintage BYU Jimmer and his shot rimmed out) he scores 7 points and the Kings win by 18.
That means Jimmer is now 17 for his last 25 from the floor.*Banned*

Thomas and Douglas go 3 for 19 from their field, but their tenacious defense holds the Rockets to 112 points. Jimmer is officially in the dog house. Does anyone think that Smart will be coaching next season?

Man, I hope not but, I would rather he get traded than have to stick around on that franchise. Obviously Jimmer is not going to be an NBA all-star, nor will he be a consistent starter, but there are more than a few teams that would get him a consistent 15-25 minutes per game.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostThomas and Douglas go 3 for 19 from their field, but their tenacious defense holds the Rockets to 112 points.
