I agree Rubio looked pretty good. That Minny team is going to be fun to watch develop. But I am not convinced Kahn won't screw it up somehow. I was waiting for him to make some dumbass move like trading Kevin Love for Lamar Odom.

I have always been a Rubio fan. I can't wait to see what he can do in this league.

What's all this crap doing in Jimmer's thread?

Render therefore unto Rubio the things which are Rubio's; and unto Jimmer the things that are Jimmer's.

        • Anybody listen to The Jim Rome Show this morning? Jay Mohr was hosting and sarcastically commented that Sacramento won based upon Jimmer's electric 6 points. Made no other mention of any other player. Went on to suggest perhaps they should give him the ball more. That's a tall order with that group.

          • Jimmer seems tentative again tonight. I wish he'd just put some moves on folks and do his thing. He's not going to last in the league just hanging out around the arc, even if doing so helps his TO stats. Maybe he'll settle in as the season proceeds, but he seemed pretty settled in the preseason.

            • On the other hand, even when Jimmer isn't directly involved, the team seems to play a lot better with him on the floor. He's leading the team in +/- tonight, and has been at least top 2 every game, I think.

I think that is by design right now. Westphal has said he wants Jimmer to space the floor. The problem is he needs to shoot better than 20% when he's out there. He'll be fine. He made some nice shots and just missed on some others. He'd have some assists but the chuckers are all missing.

That was the Sac-town I expect to see the majority of the season. Four guys standing around while whoever brings it up (usually Tyreke) goes one on one only to throw up a bad shot.

I feel bad for Jimmer. He's the only guy that tries to run any sort of offense. I have watched all four Sacramento games now and have yet to see a set play. There are going to be games like against the Lakers when they're making everything, but last night's effort will be the norm.

                    • I'm worried about Jimmer. The only positive about this situation is that he is getting a ton of minutes. Outside of that it is hard to imagine being worse. I'm baffled at why Sacto drafted him.

I agree. I noticed last night that the level of difficulty in the shots he has to make in the NBA (especially on this team) is unbelievable. I think he has 1 wide open look and that was on a three last night that he clanked.

The baseline fadeaway and the three he made were both with the shot clock running down and guys in his face.

Sacto drafted him to keep their franchise in Sacramento with a new arena. He's selling tickets and merch. That is all.

Paul Westphal is a terrible coach. The guy has no offense. No defense. Players just run whatever they want. He's wasting the talent and development of Cousins. They're getting blown out and nobody but the starters are getting any burn. Does Thornton really need to be chucking up bricks still? Why not give Honeycutt some minutes. Let Jimmer run some offense. It pissed me off that Jimmer only got about 8 minutes in the second half. I effing hate the Kings. What a stupid franchise. They deserve to suck. Petrie was one of the best GMs until the Maloof's cut his nuts off. If it were up to him, they would not have drafted Jimmer.

I noticed that too. It seems like Jimmer's trying to run the offense, but the offense seems to suck at getting him open looks, as does the playground ball happening most of the time. It also seemed like Portland specifically played him really tight compared to GS and LA.

                              • Kings getting trounced by the Bulls on some fast breaks. Jimmer comes in, calms the team down, sets up some good offensive runs, grabs an assist here, a jumper there, whittles it down to a 6 point game at the end of 1 quarter. It's hard to see on a team like the Kings, but you can tell he makes a difference out there.
