The Official Jimmerphilia Thread

So my soon-to-be 70 year old mother just loves Jimmer (to put it into perspective she has a srapbook of his newspaper clippings and sends her kids email updates-as if we don't already know ). Well late last night she took a horrible fall breaking and dislocating her shoulder (I got my fathers email and was able to get over to see her resting comfortably early this morning). She's now completely sedated but before drifting off she told my dad "there is no way in Hell I'm missing The Jimmer show!"

I love my mom.

For all the praise heaped on Jimmer, I am impressed by Jax and crew. This quote by Emery tells me a lot about him and this team:

Utah MMA fighter Damarques Johnson just took a fight on short notice against TUF winner Amir Sadollah. Johnson was the radio this morning and said if he wins he is going to tell Joe Rogan that Sadollah got Jimmered.

This week while I was out on a business trip in Vermont, I had an interesting conversation with one of my clients. To give a backdrop, this client is a tool (at least I thought he was). The guy would never returned my calls and would only reach out when he needed something urgently.

When I walked into his office, I noticed some Vermont sports paraphernalia hanging on his wall. So naturally, I asked him if he was a fan. He then goes on to tell me that he was a season ticket holder. So then I say, "oh, so you got to see the Jimmer show this year". He immediately perks up and says, "that guy is unreal!"

He then starts going on and on about Jimmer and how amazing he is and tells me how happy he was to be able to see most of BYU's games. At that point I was confused because we all know the Mtn is terrible and a ton of people can't get the garbage channel in Utah much less Vermont. So I say to him, "wait, you get the Mtn? What in the world would posses you to carry that station?" He goes on to tell me that he took a huge interest in Jimmer after he played Vermont and started to follow him. He said that after the UNLV game he vowed to never miss another BYU game again and upgraded his satellite package to watch the Jimmer Show. The guy hasn't missed a BYU game after that point.

We went on to talk about the tournament and how he was now a fan. He loves our style and loves to see "a bunch of white boys" play an up-tempo style.I was surprised how much he knew about our team. It was as if I was talking to another BYU fan.

Anyways, I thought some of you might think this was as awesome as I did. Jimmermania truly has swept the nation. He's so powerful, he may even be able to keep The Mtn afloat.

The sports junkies, a local sports talk show were talking about Jimmer and his girlfriend this morning. They took note of the fact that she was hot and said there is no possible way that he wasn't "hitting that." But also said that since he's not going on a mission, maybe he's not as mormon as the rest of the team.
