Marcus Morris loves Jimmer, and if you don't know Marcus Morris or seen his sometimes dirty play, then you know this is high praise coming from him:

“Kemba’s a great player, but I like Jimmer. That’s a bad boy right there. He was my teammate in Vegas during the USA Basketball [Select] camp.”

I asked him, exactly, what he liked about Jimmer.

“He’s got heart. You can see he has a feel for the game, and he can SHOOT IT from anywhere. Even if you try to box-and-one the guy, he brings it up and just pulls up from the hashmark. That’s tough to guard.

“He’s a great kid, too, if you’ve ever met Tyrel Reed on our team, he’s like that — Christian kid, is open about a lot of stuff.

“Jimmer works hard too. We were actually roommates in Vegas at the USA camp, and he was doing push-ups and sit-ups every night. And I was like, ‘Man, that’s a hard worker,’ because I do not do push-ups or sit-ups every night.”

I then asked if Jimmer did anything else in Vegas, and this is what Morris said:

“He just read his Bible. Maybe he went out to eat with his friends, but he came right back in, and he went to sleep early. He was over 21, and he didn’t gamble, anything like that. We were in Vegas, and he went to sleep early. But that’s just the type of guy he is — he doesn’t change for anybody.”

It's a really good read. Sometimes you find it hard to believe that Jimmer doesn't read his own press clippings and start getting a big head. If I had an ounce of the talent/skill he does I'd be the biggest shit talker in the world. Hell, I already am.

Bill Walton when asked about UCLA on Rivals Radio this morning on the way to the office after a few minutes of saying how recruits should be lining up at the door to be like Kareem and Henry Bibby, somehow segued into Jimmer. Comparing him to "Little Stevie Nash" and that he thinks that Jimmer is the same molded player. He hopes Jimmer and the Cougars have a deep run so that everyone gets to enjoy Jimmer and Guinness on St. Patrick's Day.

The article is somewhat disparaging, in saying that Jimmer likely won't carry his team into the Final 4, putting up as many shots as he does.

What it doesn't point out is that the Cougar faithful would be absolutely thrilled with an Elite 8 appearance, similar to Davidson's, on the back of 45-50% of the team shots coming from The Chosen One.

Ken Pom had a blog the other day about Jimmer's shots. He's basically taken Davies' 10 shots a game and Ken was pretty impressed with his ability to still convert and thinks he can sustain it for a run.
