Last night I watched a bit of the UNM game. My wife talked about how cute Jimmer was, and that she just wanted to "pinch his cheeks". I am pretty sure it was not a euphamism.

I agree. Jimmer is a real man. If that is the first thing you noticed, what does it say about you?

I like BYU is one of he few schools with double representation, with the cheering "E".

I think we get 3 representations because the "blue man group" could be us or Duke. They sit in the front of our student section toward the home bench.

The SI cover reminds me of the question: How long do mascots generally stick around? The Aztec dude has been putting on that stupid helmet for at least the past 5 years. Props to him, I guess. But doesn't the University of the State of San Diego require you to move on, eventually....much like Gay, Leonard, White, and any hope of a decent team will this year.

Also, for those Ute fans who weren't able to witness the abomination that was Jim Boylen's last game in person, you should be proud; Swoop totally dominated Montezuma in the one-armed pushup contest at the game.

Nothing to be proud of there either. Swoop may have done more pushups, but his technique was weak. He basically rotated through his shoulder and barely bent his elbow, giving the illusion of a push-up. SDSU's mascot looked to be doing true Rocky-style 1-armed push-up.

I don't recall Andre Miller being on the cover of the NCAA Tournament Preview edition.

PS I also don't recall a ute cheerleader on the cover at the very top of the NCAA Tournament Preview edition.

I think a look at all of the covers reveals that Jimmer was clearly intended to be the primary cover guy by SI. Each of the other players that get the big central pic cameo have a designated spot on the cover of the mag. And then when Kemba is in the middle Jimmer takes his normal spot. On the Smith cover, Jimmer's pic is fitted in Smith's old spot. And the same for Lighty and Morris.

Jimmer's primary location? The centerpiece, of course.
