I'd probably be annoyed too. March has seen Jimmer get more minutes and him being consistently productive with that time. He's trending in the right direction.

Yep. You always hear about professional sports figures saying they don't read the papers, etc. Smart obviously does.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSmart has sure referenced Jimmer's fans and followers a lot. Must really annoy him."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Here's an SI article on Jimmer's development with the Kings:
From the article:
During some early-season games, I remember seeing the Kings after the other team scored. The inbounder would wait for another person to come for the ball, even if Jimmer was right there with his hands out. Some teammates he has. While Fredette gained respect for his work ethic and humility from the beginning, his quiet ways and the enormity of his fame have posed challenges. Whereas the fearless Thomas is routinely seen barking at his teammates when they don't execute to his liking, Fredette, as center DeMarcus Cousins pointed out, often looks at the bench in search of approval from the coaching staff. Smart, in essence, was convinced that Fredette and the team would suffer if he got too much responsibility early.
"His team doesn't trust him yet," Smart said. "That's a big weight for a guy to be on the floor trying to play through something, and the team doesn't respect him yet. Now once that player is strong enough to carry himself and be on the floor and be productive, you start to see the confidence from his team now coming to his side.
"Earlier in the season, they weren't feeling that because, quote-unquote, there's still a little jealousy in the air. Here comes a guy who's high profile, [and] it has nothing to do with the player. But he's coming into the team, has been marketed [by] the team, and everyone else on the outside sees that, and players hear that too. But the player may not be ready for what he's getting ready to face.""What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

It's not the teammates' fault. It's just "because, quote-unquote, there's still a little jealousy in the air."Originally posted by Joe Public View PostHere's an SI article on Jimmer's development with the Kings:

Look, I like Jimmer and hope he has a great pro career. But if you can't see how the zeal of his fans can be a little tiresome, you're not paying attention.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSmart has sure referenced Jimmer's fans and followers a lot. Must really annoy him.

According to the box score Jimmer has played 0 minutes so far but has 1 assist -- he must have been in for 20 seconds or something but at least he got a stat.Originally posted by nikuman View PostAbout to get my Jimmer on in Houston.
Sucks for the Houstonians who bought tickets to see Jimmer play.
