This type of deal benefits all 4 teams (assuming that picks/additional compensation are sent to Sacto for taking on Murphy's deal).

Utah clears up $3 mil in salary this year, which is like a $6 mil savings with the luxury tax. Utah also loses Memo's deal next season.

Charlotte saves almost $10 mil in salary and gets two young wing players in Morrow and Miles.

New Jersey gets an upgrade in AK, loses Murphy (who is done there anyways).

I don't love the deal for the Jazz, but it definitely gives them some added scoring punch in Jackson and Wallace replaces a lot of what AK brought. It also gets them out from Memo's awful deal a year earlier.

    Something to think about anyways.

Jazz give up virtually nothing and get 2 really good players in return and you don't love it for the Jazz?

There's no way Charlotte is interested in a downgrade like that.
And what's the long-term beenfit to NJ? This costs them more, they lose Morrow, and all they get out of it is 2 months of AK47 and a slightly worse lottery pick?

A better result for NJ would be AK for Morrow and

If AK goes, I get the impression he's going for nothing. The Miller's aren't going to pay for a team performing at this level.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I hope you are wrong. I couldn't care less about the Millers' finances. If AK's gone in a salary dump, I'm done for this year at least. But I can't imagine many teams wanting AK as a salary dump. Only a contender would be interested in taking him on for the end of the year, and no contenders have cap room to make a salary dump work...unless it's part of a bigger deal with several teams.

Why is Deron even playing right now? I get the feeling it's because he wants to play in the AS game, and that's not a good reason if you ask me.

I dont like it because I don't think that Jackson is a great fit in Utah. I'm not a huge Wallace fan either. I also don't like being on the hook for Jax for two (or three) more years either.

Charlotte does it because they are shedding nearly $10 mil in salary and are still getting some talent back. Definitely a downgrade but for a struggling franchise saving $10 mil is not a bad thing when the drop off in production is not a $10 mil drop off IMO.

New Jersey is a bit trickier but the AK to NJ rumors have swirled for a while. I wouldnt be shocked if it happened.

Most likely though, I see a straight up salary dump.

I am starting to think the Lakers don't need this guy. He sounds like he is turning into a cancer.
Given his propensity for critical turnovers late in games, I think the spelling, "Derron" is more appropriate. Do you see what I did there? I've turned my attention to hoping we can bring LBC native son, Russell Westbrook, home. I'm sorry, Derron, it's not you, it's me.

Sloan is out!!!!!!!!!! Johnson too. I'm guessing Corbin becomes interim coach.

                        Holy crap!

Is this another cost cutting move?

I can't fathom the jazz asking Sloan to leave. It just doesn't make sense. But I can't see Sloan quitting midseason. This is absolutely bizarre. Has to be Sloan deciding to hang it up.
