Yeah, this is a big time shocker.Originally posted by Sizzle View PostI can't fathom the jazz asking Sloan to leave. It just doesn't make sense. But I can't see Sloan quitting midseason. This is absolutely bizarre. Has to be Sloan deciding to hang it up."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Maybe it was Ronnie Price after Sloan said he was resigning. I bet Price is pissed that he's going to have to move to Europe now. He was going to gravy train this Jarron Collins ride for at least another 3-4 years.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSome speculation that Sloan got in a fight with a player last night. Easy guess is Deron.

Not that I understand the Sloan move, but it looks every more strange if Phil is going too. That makes it seem more like a firing than a resignation. Unless they told Phil that he wasn't getting the job when Jerry left.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Phil has said for years now that when Jerry was done, he was done. Countless people disagreed with me on CB, stating the oft-quoted line from LHM about Phil being the next Jazz coach. But he has been very clear about the fact that he wasn't going to take over when Jerry left -- he was leaving with him.Originally posted by falafel View PostNot that I understand the Sloan move, but it looks every more strange if Phil is going too. Plus he is like 4-5 years older than Jerry.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostPhil has said for years now that when Jerry was done, he was done. This is a bad sign for how things are being run for the future. Will next years awful draft pick be 100% KOC's fault now? Just wanting to know who to complain about in advance.Get confident, stupid

This is so surreal. You thought the day was going to come eventually, just not now.

As someone that dislikes both Sloan and the Jazz, I believe he consistently got significantly more wins than would be otherwise expected, given their talent level.
