Most guys get better when they leave the Blazers, Clyde, Rasheed, Z-Bo, Rod Strikland, seems like a long tradition. I can't wait to see how good Bayless and Roy get when they leave, or in Bayless' case just get to play. Oden probably turns into an All-Star somewhere else.

      Ross Siler on Twitter:
Carlos Boozer on crutches. Just left and said it's not as bad as it could have been.
That said, it's not good. Boozer didn't want to talk and said the Jazz would have a statement forthcoming.

        Well that's not good.

One article said it was his calve, and the other said it was a hamstring. It would be nice to know which.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

So the starting lineup for tonight looks like this:

          Price
          Brew
          AK
          Sap
          Okur

          Yikes...

Change the starting PG and you'd have the following acronym:

              Sap
              Okur
              Brew
              AK
              Diata

That said it's a better lineup than the one AK led to a 42-40 overall record a few years ago.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them win this game. In fact, I expect them to.

Koof was also called up tonight because the Jazz are short a player. Sucks that they had to use one of their options and I was really hoping he would get some time in the Flash's back-to-back set this weekend.

So was I. The worst thing for this kid right now is riding the pine and playing only in limited shoot arounds and a few practices here and there. He played well for the Flash and played some semi-valuable minutes when freshly called up last year. He may never be very good but is of no use to this team just filling a spot on the bench.

koufos has a great inside shot, and i think he's got a lot of potential. i think sitting on the bench all the time has kind of sapped his work ethic, though, at least from what i've read from sloan.

in other news, i know that ronnie price isn't an especially effective point guard (especially in the jazz system), but man is this guy fun to watch. so much energy, can jump out of the gym, and no sense of entitlement. i feel the same way about wesley matthews. i wish there were more of these types of guys in the league.

I'm shocked by how much Brockman has played this year. I didn't think he was an NBA player.

I don't recall reading anything about his work ethic from Sloan. In fact, Sloan seems to constantly praise how hard he works. The only real negative I've heard is that he has a hard time running the plays right.

this is what i was thinking of:

“He’s such a high-energy guy, he’s got great energy, but he kind of reminds me of myself a little bit the early part of my career,” Sloan said. “Sometimes your energy goes away real quick when you get real excited and you’re always into it.

“Hopefully, he can relax a little bit and get a little bit more comfortable with what he needs to work on.”
maybe i'm inferring a bit too much.

Gut check game. Need to win this without our two best players. Not a great start to the 2nd half.
