  • What is Jeremy Conlin's moniker on CUF?

The Utah Jazz clearly have no idea what lineups they should be using, so I’m here to help. I’m going to start with Randy Foye, because he seems to be single-handedly murdering the Jazz...This trend gets to a broader issue within the Jazz organization: what kind of team do the Jazz want to be? Should they continue playing veterans instead of younger players in hopes of snagging an 8 seed and a first round whooping? Or should they let their young players take their lumps, acquire some draft picks and play for a few years down the road. Right now, the Jazz seemed to be straddling both paths.

As it is, Foye is playing over Hayward (who is a drastically superior player) and Alec Burks (who is a drastically younger player with drastically more upside). Either way, the Jazz have options that suit them better in the short term AND the long term. And yet Foye, like Hayward, still plays 26 minutes a game.

    • I've always felt like Foye has been a big problem in the starting line-up. Burks or Hayward need to be the starting SG (I don't have a problem bringing Hayward off the bench, but he needs 30-35 minutes a night and closing games). Foye's defense has been atrocious.

Corbin is not a good coach. I would suggest that the Jazz trade Foye and save Corbin from him, but it isn't like anyone is going to trade for him.

Way too easy. Up 19 and I wouldn't be surprised if the jazz end up losing by 10

                • Al Jefferson's hedge-defense is substandard.

                    • The only call that bugged me was no call on the lap up attempt that would have given the Jazz a 1 point lead. That looked like a pretty easy call.

                        • Why the eff is Hayward the guy guarding a red hot Paul to end the game? And why the eff is Al on the court for what is clearly a defense-offense substitution situation?

Because g-time did a really good job against paul the last outing. I guess they could have tried someone else since g wasn't working, but who? Tinsley? Foye?

Well, on the second to last possession Paul absolutely destroyed Hayward. Made him look silly and then stepped back and hit an uncontested jumper. After seeing that, it was clear Hayward shouldn't have been guarding him on the last possession. Tinsley wouldn't have done any worse.

Of course, the bigger issue is why was Al on the court for a defensive possession.

Corbin was obviously saving Favors 6th foul for next game.
post game Corbin said the plan was actually got jefferson to trap Paul. Seriously. Give clippers a little credit, they let Al off the hook all game by not using Jordan in the pnr, but they called it on the last play and Al just did what Al does.
This may have been the worst coached games in history. After the first half urks nd hayward don't get in until 2 left in the third. Kanter doesnt gett in till the 4th. Favors exits early to save that foul got nothing. No timeout during or after Clippers 12 point run almost eliminating 19 point lead. Back to back play calls for Randy Foye to iso to end game. Leaving Al in on least defensive play.

And then Phil Johnson after the game agreeing with the call and saying that Corbin could have gone for quick 2 down 3 with three second left didn't make me miss him at all. Jazz tv guys are awful.
