Just saw the current score. This Oregon/SC game is a good one.

Al is downright terrible so far this year. I would love to see Favors close out the game instead of him, but not like that's gonna happen.

Mo Williams absolutely scorching hot in the 3rd quarter... 25 points, 7 assists.
Tied up after 3.

Favors 23 min
Kanter 11 min
Burks another DNP-CD
Another loss. When Corbin doesn't get those guys the minutes they deserve and the team doesn't win, it feels like they've lost twice on the same night.I'm like LeBron James.

There was absolutely no reason Kanter deserved more than 11 minutes. He made plenty of rookie mistakes and was non-existent out there. I get it, we need to see the rookies get experience, but he wasn't anything special. Favors & Burks need more minutes though.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostFavors 23 min

They lost. They are 1-2. Jefferson wasn't anything special and was making rookie mistakes. As long as they are losing and Jefferson isn't doing anything special, who gives a rat's ass if Kanter isn't special or makes "rookie" mistakes. Non-existent? Play Jefferson 11 minutes and check how many games we say he looked non-existent out there. Guys have stretches where they don't do much, but the guys who get 25-35 minutes have opportunities to make up for those times and have moments when they are able to make significant contributions.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostThere was absolutely no reason Kanter deserved more than 11 minutes. He deserves to play, but we think Tinsley deserves it more.Tyrone Corbin on Alec Burks situation and if he needs to get Alec minutes
"Yes. Yes. Yes. He deserves to play. Not only him but Jeremy deserves minutes and Kevin Murphy has shown signs.
My message to all the guys is hang in there it is early we still have some things to workout and be ready when you come into play. Don't look for excuses, blame me if you need to blame someone I am the guy who controls the minutes but be ready when you get in the game."
I had to laugh at Locke's tweet this morning that Bayless being the backup PG in Memphis means Foye can play backup point because Bayless is a good match-up. Seriously? I guess that means so far Tinsley has matched up better against Gary Neal, Austin Rivers, and Roddy Beaubois?

If have to ask though, is Ty saying this anticipating an injury as the catalyst to playing time for Burks/Evans/Murphy? If true, what kind of asinine plan is that? Fatigue on back-to-backs? Why not give them minutes now so they can really perform when called upon. You don't think young players who spend 5 straight games with 3 min of total playing time can just come in and perform, do you Ty?Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostHe deserves to play, but we think Tinsley deserves it more.

IMO The San Antonio game was the ideal time to get Burks/Murphy some time. That road game is as close to a concession as it gets in the NBA and when you are already down 20 in the 2nd you might as well try something different. True, staying the course brought the team back but they still lost with Tinsley playing.
I do see Corbin's point to an extent since road games for young players can be a tough spot but sometimes you just need to throw a kid in and tell him 'sink or swim'. I'd even like to see G-Hay moved to the 3 in that scenario since both are fantastic at getting to the line.
Also, I have to agree Kanter's 2 road games have been atrocious and hasn't necessarily earned him more minutes. Seeing all 4 bigs suck so bad against New Orleans was depressing, btw."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Foye has been playing some shit defense this year.
This team isn't going to get close to cracking .500 on the road. We're going to have to rely on going like 31-10 at home.

The "Big lineup" played all of 4:27 together against San Antonio and scored on each and every posession. Tonight they played about 8 min and until Milsap fouled out they scored on each and every posession. If I were the coach I'd never play that lineup.
Kanter has had a forgettable roadtrip. I love the kid but he has been horrible."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault
