Darn. He was finally starting to play better.

Defensively he's a huge liability. Come to think of it, none of then play any defense so why not. Why not have Burks run the point for 10 min? No one else can stay in front of pgs in this league.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostDoes anyone else think the Jazz play better when Tinsley is in the game?"Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Harris' defense has been outstanding in the past 4-5 games. He pretty much shut down Kyrie Irving and Irving went like 0-7 and then when Harris went out Irving got hot.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostDefensively he's a huge liability. I don't know if I'd say outstanding, but I do think he's looked noticeably better.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostHarris' defense has been outstanding in the past 4-5 games. David Locke called into the morning show and was unusually candid on a few things (one of the only good things about PK in the morning on 1320 is that he digs at David until he gives his real opinion). Now these observations are fairly obvious but you know that when the ultimate kool-aid drinker can be critical that change is just that obvious.
Locke unabashedly said CJ needs to have less time if not traded all together, called Al's game last night a "nice step towards what a PF needs to do" (re:assists) but still is "hogging the ball" too much (
). When pressed on Milsap insisted over and over that "he is the glue guy" but finally relented when PK pressed him on trade value and admitted that getting a solid wing was important (still qualified his comments that this upcoming draft had a lot of wings the Jazz can go after though). He was very critical of Corbin's rotations (for once) and said it "absolutely made no sense that Favors/Burks didn't get more time last night". Said Kanter has hit the wall (not sure I agree but maybe). Again, this is no great revelation and Locke follows stats as much as anyone so he knows what these players do poorly but until now he couldn't bring himself to be critical of them.
I was listening to him during the 3rd and beginning of the 4th on the way home from work. When Corbin pulled Favors & Kanter at the 9 min mark of the 4th he was quite... "puzzled" let's say.

- Chalmers went 1-6 on Friday night, which while Chalmers isn't a top level PG, he averages almost 12 PPG and Chalmers was a non-factor.
- Kidd did not shoot the ball well on Saturday, Beaubois went off in SLC a month or so ago and didn't do much in 20 minutes but I think Watson guarded the brunt of that.
- Irving went 0-7 shooting with Harris defending him in the 1st half, then went off as Harris went off with knee injury.
His D has been improved greatly since the SAS game.

I agree. Those are obvious conclusions to have reached. Especially re: CJ and Burks. Especially Favors/Kanter not playing against bad teams like Cleveland.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostDavid Locke called into the morning show and was unusually candid on a few things (one of the only good things about PK in the morning on 1320 is that he digs at David until he gives his real opinion). Locke also was amazed at the not-very-surprising analysis of his buddy kpelton during his podcast last week. When Locke asked how many wins it might cost the Jazz for the rest of the season if they swapped Jefferson's and Millsap's minutes with Favors and Kanter, i.e. the youngs get 30 mpg, Pelton responded "maybe 2 or 3 wins."
Considering that Millsap and Jefferson likely won't be on the team past next year at the latest, it makes sense to play Favors and Kanter.
Considering we aren't going to do much worse (if at all) with Favors and Kanter playing big minutes, it makes sense to play Favors and Kanter.
Considering that it is better for the Jazz if they end up with a better lottery pick, it makes sense to play Favors and Kanter.
I really can't see any downside whatsoever of playing them big minutes. Certainly, if KOC fails to trade Jefferson before the start of next season, he has failed at his job.

Whoa. Isn't that like 6 years ex-post facto? That's long enough for the rise and decline of the prime playing years for most players.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostRumor has it that Vazquez is finally going to come over to Orlando this off-season.
Maybe there is hope for Tomic and the Jazz.

Drafted #11 in '05. He'll turn 29 in May.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostWhoa. Isn't that like 6 years ex-post facto? That's long enough for the rise and decline of the prime playing years for most players.
The Orlando Magic have tried to get Fran Vazquez, the No. 11 pick in the 2005 NBA draft, into a uniform for the last six years and they may finally accomplish that this summer.
Vazquez's contract with FCB Regal allows him to leave for the NBA this year and general manager Otis Smith is hoping to sign the power forward.
"That's the plan," Smith tells the Orlando Sentinel.
Ricky Rubio did tell the newspaper earlier this season that Vazquez is ready to play in the NBA next season.
