Damn is Harris playing some inspired ball lately. I hate to be cynical and say it's due to the impending trade deadline but whatever the reason he is really upping his game as of late.

That's probably true. Nice to see Kanter play so well and get a win out of it.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostI think especially with all these young players the Jazz have it's nice for them to get rewarded with a win like this. You want all these guys to stay motivated and keep working hard and it's probably hard to do that when you lose every night. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I'm not going to agree or disagree about LeBron's mentality in terms of taking last second shots. I understand that is his reputation, but I also know reputation does not always equal reality. I do know I've seen LeBron take and make plenty of last second shots over the course of his career. I also know that MJ consistently passed to open teammates in last shot opportunities. MJ wanted the last shot, but if a teammate had a better shot he was more than willing to make the pass. That's what LeBron did tonight. He had an open teammate and he made the pass. I have a hard time criticizing him for that.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostSeems like that's just his personality -- he doesn't have that MJ/Kobe mentality where he wants to take the last shot.I'm like LeBron James.

Sure I don't think Lebron made the wrong play necessarily. I'm probably the biggest Lebron fan on this board and I DVR most of his games and predicted the Heat would turn it around and go to the Finals when they were sucking last year. I agree Lebron has taken plenty of shots at the end of games -- but no way would MJ or Kobe have passed the ball tonight if they had 17 points in the quarter and were in that situation.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI'm not going to agree or disagree about LeBron's mentality in terms of taking last second shots. I think Lebron just has the instinct to pass in that situation and that's just the way he's wired to play. It's the same reason he left Cleveland to go play with his friends in Miami -- he doesn't have to be the man all the time the way a lot of other all-time great players have to be.

I agree with most of this. That said, I'm not convinced MJ wouldn't have passed the ball in the same situation - on that we'll agree to disagree. Of course Kobe doesn't pass it, but he's more concerned with getting his and being the hero than anything else.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostSure I don't think Lebron made the wrong play necessarily. Lucky! I gave up my season tickets last year and promised not to regret my decision. Tonight was the first night this year I've truly missed the lower bowl of the ESA.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostWhy yes. Yes it was.

Haslem is shooting 39% from 16-23 this year. I don't think Jordan is dishing off for that low of a percentage play especially when the only person between him and the basket is Paul Milsap.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI agree with most of this. Jordan would never pass off a chance at a game winner. Certainly not on a stage like Madison Square Garden. And especially not in a game where he had scored 55 and was on fire in the 4th quarter. No way he would pass that off, I don't care how open a guy like Bill Wennington might be.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostHaslem is shooting 39% from 16-23 this year. No way he would ever do that. Except of course in the game where he actually did.Last edited by BGRTHNUMEGO; 03-03-2012, 02:29 PM.

And he'd never pass it off for for a 40% shot when the championship was on the line...except for when he did.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostJordan would never pass off a chance at a game winner. Bottom line is, Lebron was absolutely amazing last night. Performance of the year so far. Made 2 would-have-been game winners in the last minute. And he probably passed up a shot with a 40% chance at going in for a shot with a 60% chance of going in.
