all i'm saying is it is far too easy to be a lakers fan than any other team in the league (cleveland, boster, orlando close seconds). when have lakers fans faced any kind of adversity? for me, at least, it's a lot more respectable to have been a fan of the jazz in 2003, or the the bucks for the past five years, than to have been a lakers fan for the last 13 or so. it's the same way i feel about the yankees.

As much as I would like to see the Jazz win this series I don't think it goes past 5 games. There are just too many mismatches in the Lakers favor.

I'm not saying I disagree. I'm saying that your persuasiveness is lacking.

It has nothing to do with respectability, unless you're seriously advocating that fans should disassociate themselves from a team once it becomes a winner (which I know you aren't). Hate bandwagoners all you want, but try using a much slimmer brush when painting your masterpiece.

Finally, after eighty pages and almost 2,400 contributions, someone brings some sanity to this discussion.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

DWill is officially a game time decision for Sunday. His reaction to the injury looked more like a shoulder/collar bone issue than an elbow one.

If you live in SLC and the Jazz is one of your least favorite teams, now is not a fun time to live here.

This series hinges on Boozer. If he's affective in game 1 and able to prove to himself that he can do something against the LA bigs, I predict LA in 6; if not, I think it's LA in 5.

Great points! Not sure what your collective health has to do with anything, though. Normally I would just assume you were including yourselves as members of the Lakers (if so, congrats on making the roster! CUFfers never cease to amaze!), but then you immediately reference the Lakers in the third person. You can see why I'm confused.

One thing that annoys is that the Lakers and Jazz have to play tomorrow, while SAS and PHX wrapped up their series a day earlier and don't start until a day later. That might not have happened if the Mavs hadwon their series, but there's no way in hell Stern is wasting a Sunday slot on the Spurs unless he has no other choice.
