Ugh. That was a dark time to be a Jazz fan.

I was at the game last night, gave up my normal season tickets for 11th row (brother's corp seats). After the Durrant parade to free throw line began I spent most of the 3rd quarter watching all 3 refs on the OKC offensive end. Bennett Salvator spent the entire game and especially the 2nd half with his eyes fixed on Durrant whether he was in his area or not. All 3 did really but Salvator was ridiculous. Called off-the-ball fouls on a number of picks.

BTW, everyone wants to talk about CJ's obvious last second foul but they don't want to admit that the previous call on CJ was a joke. Durrant fades in the lane, doesn't get even touched and Salvator calls a foul. KG was not too far off of his assessment of Durrant. That said, the kid can flat out ball. He is a longer, more athletic Ray Allen. Funnest game of the year to attend.

Well, I mentioned that somewhere in the thread. It is no bigger travesty that OK lost on a no-call than it would have been had the Jazz lost in part because of the fact that the refs just handed over two points to Durant with 43 seconds left.

But ultimately this stuff isn't worth whining about because it usually evens out. The Jazz got equally jobbed on that New Year's Eve game against OKC in OKC. Collison hit ft's to seal the call on a seriously questionable call, and then Price didn't get a call on the final shot where there was a similar amount of contact to the Durant shot last night. I guess it's a bigger deal as the season winds down, but those two games count equally in the standings and ultimately evened out.

I was at that game. It was a they called a push on John Amaechi on a Webber rebound of a missed Stockton FT. Webber made both his FTs to take the lead.

The other one that jumps to mind is the Kobe flailing against Devin Brown to get a call and hit three FTs to seal the game (or maybe just sent it to OT, I can't remember).

I was at that game too. Did you see the water bottle hurled at the refs from someone middle of the lower bowl as they were bolting for the tunnel after the buzzer? It hit one of them in his upper thigh (almost crotch) area. I hate fans acting like that.

Edit: The Sacramento game, I mean.

Mentioned the refs...Brothers and Salvatore - ton of experience between them. Third ref - Dalen, perhaps in his second season. Dalen making calls against Utah all game long, Salvatore and Brothers trying to even it out a bit. Mentions a couple specific calls Salvatore made against Utah - one for Durant when he even admitted he screwed up (Brothers tried to defend Salvatore, but Deron told Brothers Salvatore and already admitted he was wrong), but gave Durant FTs regardless.

In OT, Durant had been warned twice about flailing his arms and legs in an effort to draw fouls. Brothers was right on that last shot, probably felt he owed the Jazz and didn't blow the whistle. Bottom line: make up calls are part of the game.

Yes. I was sitting about 5 rows up in the upper deck directly behind the Kings basket, and there were a couple people up near us that started throwing stuff, too.

I think the reason the fans acted that way (not that there is any excuse for that. None whatsoever.) is the Jazz had essentially been beaten senseless by the Kings the last 8 times they played (including a near sweep in the first round the year before--but what if Padget hadn't touched Stockton's shot while it was still above the rim? If it had dropped, the Jazz would have gone back to Sacramento tied 2-2 and needing just one win to pull off a huge 8 over 1 upset. I digress.) and this was one game where the Jazz had seemingly outplayed them.

Man that Kings teams was hateable.

It was a stupid play by CJ and should have cost the Jazz the game. I mentioned that earlier. The Jazz dodged a bullet thanks to a crap non-call and obviously I'm thrilled about it, but if I were a OKC fan, I'd be pissed.

It's the same with the fans of any team (Spurs included), but then you already knew that. It's the main reason I don't like to blame losses on the refs, really.

I agree with you. But it seems like a lot of justification is happening on why that foul was not called a lot of "You just do not call a foul in that situation" BS.

When the Jazz lose a playoff game because of a no-call the fans are going to be going nuts.
