Gordon Hayward. Pretty sure they are already there. Better off trying to find a diamond in the rough for the minimum than overpaying a guy who doesn't enhance your ability to compete.

There is no need to get to the "salary floor". That requirement doesn't exist.

Not really a penalty, no. If they fail to meet the floor, the difference between the floor and actual salaries is split among the players. So the team can't save money by going below the floor.
But this doesn't apply to the Jazz without Booker. They have plenty of salary with small time deals plus Hayward and Favs.

It's always a bad sign when you double the offer of a players previous team and they say, "I'd rather have Kris Humphries anyway." This is essentially what the Wizards did re: Booker.

Anyone want Boozer for 2 mil? Not me.

Looks like he hasn't played since the 1st game. I learned as much about Exum as I could prior to the draft and wasn't impressed. He hasn't done anything in three games to change my mind. He uses his size to see over people, has good vision and is a solid passer. His supposed speed and vaunted first step - where are they? He's not getting by anybody. He's basically been a non-factor since the first game.

Young players with potential to be great generally have moments of brilliance combined with WTF type plays. We're not seeing the moments of brilliance. No explosion. Can't seem to even get shots off. Doesn't get to the basket. Basically he looks like the guy who was just good (not great) against high school competition and is now playing against grown men and it stands to reason he is non-existent.

Also it's summer league. There are always summer league stars that are busts and dogs that turn into stars. You can't put much stock in it.

The most difficult thing for Exum right now appears to be playing off the ball. But we shouldn't have any expectation that he'd be good at that at this point. He is a totally different player when the ball is in his hands.

For all the talk of Burke and Exum playing together I don't know how much we'll actually see that during the season. Exum will hopefully take all the back-up PG minutes, so about 15-17 mpg there, and during those minutes he'll have Burks or Hayward at the 2 next to him. Then there will be garbage minutes he gets which will be more likely to be next to Ian Clarke and not Burke.
