  • A Dukie for a coach. Now they draft a Dukie. My fanhood is being tested.

      • Gotta hand it to the Jazz - they managed to draft a better player at 23 than they did at 5. Hood was a good value and he's about as close to a guaranteed rotation player as they can find. He's an elite 3pt shooter and a top notch athlete with nice size at near 6'9".

I hope Burke doesn't play in summer league so we can see what Exum can do at the point right away when he isn't playing against little kids.

        • I'm loving Bill Simmons pathetic jokes about Dante Exum because I agree. when discussing Cleanthony Early they mentioned he didn't lose any games in college. Simmons: neither did Exum. Mentioned early in the draft that Exum had been in hiding for 10 months while Randle was getting double doubles and leading his team to the national finals.

I'm guessing this will prove about as accurate as your prediction that Evans would be better than Hayward.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

40/30. If I said that, I may have been right.

              • Dang, Early goes one pick before the Jazz. I'm guessing we see a draft-and-stash anyway.

                • I love the Stokes pick. One of the best players in the country last year. Nevermind - didn't notice the trade.

                    Memphis will be pleased.

Yeah, you nailed that prediction out of the park. I mean, Evans even kind of got to play in an NBA rotation this year at 26!

If the best you can do is 40/30, perhaps a guy who doesn't play hurts your team less.

Why make that trade? Was there cash or something else involved?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

lol. G-Time wasn't great, but we couldn't do much better. His 4.99 WAR was 80th in the league, which sadly led the Jazz by a good margin (#2 was Burks at 2.82 and good for 121st in the league). Evans was worth a whopping .05, but, you know, field goal percentage. G-Time also led the team in RPM, with .58 (the only regular player on the team in the positives), while Evans posted a dazzling -2.28. But, you know, another something about field goal percentage.

The worst part about looking at those numbers is realizing basically everyone on the Jazz sucks.

I have to think there is cash involved and the Jazz just didn't want another rookie. It is a strange trade on the surface because they drafted a very good value in a deep draft at 35. The Memphis pick will likely be in the 50s in a draft that probably wouldn't be quite as deep.

                                That is depressing.
