Such a defeatist attitude! We are still in the running for WRP.

Fact: The Jazz are starting Marvin Williams.
    Fact: Tyrone Corbin is coaching.

Besides those solid points, I am dubious that Burke will have this this trajectory this season: absolutely abysmal preseason-injury-breakout rookie campaign.

Overall, we are still in the running for lotto balls. Let's bring this home!

I would be dubious as well if we weren't already seeing it from MCW (minus the injury). That kid was maybe even a bigger disaster than Burke in summer league / preseason.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      • btw, the offense has been light years better in the 4 games since Burke took over at point, good enough to jump us from last in offensive efficiency to 27th.

Still dead last in defensive efficiency.

Burke just needs to keep those two fingers taped up and he'll be fine. I wonder what MCW's secret is.

A coach who gets his team to play hard and doesn't cut minutes after a bad game?

Due more to the lack of conditioning and training in the off-season, or just the recent ankle issue?

He looked good to start the season, especially given how little he had been able to play since his shoulder injury. I think he clearly lacked strength, but he was playing hard, was rebounding really well on the offensive end, and he was taking his jumper with confidence. He wasn't having good results on defense, because like Lowe keeps pointing out Corbin sucks as a coach, but he was at least trying. Now he is completely out of sorts. He looks totally lost on defense, keeps tripping over his own feet, and has no confidence when trying to score.

If the Jazz win another game or two, Kanter will have his butt planted to the bench for the rest of the season, and the Jazz will go another season without knowing if Favors and Kanter can work together.

Other facts supporting Jazz lottery winnings:
-Richard Jefferson is starting (maybe that's what you meant when you said Marvin Williams)
-Marvin Williams is having one of the best stretches of his career over the past 2 weeks. He is posting a career high PER and has somehow discovered how to be an aggressive, emotional player. That just doesn't happen at this stage in a career. He's likely to come back down to earth and post a league average PER for the rest of the season.
-Mr. Lindsey is dedicated to losing and he'll dump Mr Williams as soon as a reasonable suitor can be found.

But then these factors leading to more wins:
-Coach figured out to bench Lucas. This is good news for people who enjoy watching basketball, but bad news for the Jazz lottery prospects, even when replaced with one a D-League player.
-Contrarily, Corbin is still the coach. So how long can a good decision really last?
-Mr. Lindsey is dedicated to losing and he-ll dump Jefferson as soon as he finds a willing dupe. Oh who am I kidding? There isn't a big enough dupe.
-Trey Burke will continue to make at least 2 3 pointers per game as I, and I alone, predicted.
-Kanter will wake up from his funk and will be at least as good as he was last year, which is better than he's playing now.

Damn that's impressive work. It's been a while since I've seen him play. Good to see him doing so well.

Was that the pass to g-time? Absolutely filthy. There are several great passes in there. Kind of forgot what those looked like after being subjected to our other point guards for most of the season. Actually, after being subjected to our point guard play since Deron left.

                        • Burke jumps to #3 on the rookie ladder.

Burke jumps to the third rung after another great week in which he's helped the Jazz win three of their last four and hasn't shied away from big shots. "He's got guts, man," teammate Marvin Williams said of Burke, who's averaging 12.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 25.8 minutes per game. "It's kind of exciting to watch him play and watch him grow each night. He's not afraid of big moments and we need that from him." It's only been seven games, but the Jazz faithful must be just as excited to watch him run the show. -- Dec. 4

                            Yup

I was just sitting in the arena not expecting much when he threaded that in there. I was stunned and then got a huge grin on my face.

                            • Marvin doubtful tonight. Evans has the flu. Will Kanter crack 20 minutes? Kanter and Burks will play more minutes, the offense will look bad because they're going up against Indiana, so Corbin will cut their minutes back again.

Trey/Burks/Hayward/Kanter/Favors = 0 minutes played together so far this year. I wonder if we'll see any of that group tonight.

With Marvin doubtful, Rush will get some time, hit 3 or 4 treys and cement his 25 mpg for the rest of the season.
