He had a run there for a few games where he was hitting threes, but he seems to be back to shooting bricks again. Seems a little more under control driving to the basket though.

I was watching him knock down the three's in warm-ups last night. I think there's a lot of potential in that young player.

Correct. And winning this year should matter. I would like for Dastrup to develop, but when BYU is struggling for production from the bench, Aytes has shown an ability to score, or at least better than Dastrup at this current stage. Next year, Dastrup may be a better option.

Dastrup rebounds better, scores about equally well, and has a higher upside. Besides this season is lost and has been since about the time UVU came in and kicked our ass.

That stat sheet really emphasizes how bad the 3 point shooting has been other than Haws and Emery.

I'm actually pretty surprised to see opponent 3 pt % at 31% for the year. Seems like like 50%

One question: Why has Dastrup replaced Aytes in the rotations? Aytes is not fantastic, but he has shown some ability to score. Dastrup has not shown that yet. Is it just the height differential?

Dastrup is a better defender, passer and rebounder. Aytes is a decent offensive threat against certain match ups but that's all.

Has BYU improved enough since the Moraga loss? At that time we didn't have rotations set, and BYU is at home, but it remains to be seen if BYU can defend well enough to knock SMC off rhythm.

Yoeli gets the butterfingers on offense sometimes. Hopefully that's something he can work out over the summer.

Rose needs to show our guys, especially Haws and Emery, most of these SMC and Gonzaga shots compared to their usual shots so they can see the difference between high percentage and low percentage shots.

Open corner 3 on a pass from the post? Hell yeah shoot that! Pull up jumper off the dribble 5 feet back from 3-point line with a guy in your face? Hell no you're not Jimmer.
